Stayed here for one night having dinner. Hotel is charming, having been founded in 1641. The thatched roof on the oldest part of the building adds to the charm. The bar and restaurant are well appointed, with the later having recently been redesigned. Dinner was very good, scallops and crackling on starter list being especially good. Service was very good and efficient with all staff, including the owner, being on hand to make us feel most welcome. Outdoor garden complete with covered area, with a warming fire, provides a tranquil area to relax. The nearby forest park, complete with waterfall affords the visitor with a chance to have a stroll down to Belfast Lough shore. Well worth a visit.

Dear Chris_doyle80, Thank you for taking the time to post a review on Tripadvisor. We were delighted to see that you enjoyed your recent stay with us. Thank you also for your kind words on the food and surroundings. It is not unusual to see the family owners of the hotel out and about on the floor and it is wonderful to see that they helped make your stay that bit more welcoming. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Kind regards, the team at The Old Inn.

Have been attending Christmas Lunches etc and meeting up with friends/business at their premises for years and found the food and surroundings excellent .
BUT
Had bought a deal through Living Social website for £99 back in June and intended to use next week for our 26th wedding anniversary before the expiry date of 17th Sept but in the small print I had to book by 31st July.
Had overlooked booking the place but now Told by the The Old Inn I can't book it and they just are keeping my hard earned 99 quid . No compromise of ANY KIND offered , just keerchin on their behalf .
So I have to come to my own doorstep in the world to be treated with absolute contempt when it comes to tourism .
Over the years other vouchers/bookings have almost lapsed or had to be changed but decent hotels have had the courtesy to re-issue and shown keeness to want you you to stay.

Dear Mealiff, reference your recent Tripadvisor review ‘Downright unhelpful and unco-operative.’ Our living social promotion was a highly successful campaign directed at periods in the year where our accommodation needed support and as such did have few caveats built in. However, our terms and conditions are laid out clearly and to infer that any of these small conditions were ‘small print’ is simply untrue. In exceptional circumstances we have bent over backwards to extend vouchers due to illness or accident, but this was not the case here. Due to the length of time taken to make the reservation the dead line had not just slipped by, by a day or two, or even a week or two but by almost a month. You will notice from previous responses from the team that when we occasionally drop the ball, we will put our hands up and apologise and try very hard to put things right. On this occasion, we feel that we have conducted our business properly and feel that to have our decency called into question in such a public forum to be totally unacceptable and unjustified. Kind regards, the team at The Old Inn.

Our first trip to Ireland was made very special by staying in this fabulous hotel. A lovely place in a quiet village. Easy bus access to Belfast, The city airport and Bangor. The food was to die for. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The people of Northern Ireland are so friendly and made us very welcome.
The wedding reception was really lovely. The wedding breakfast, superb.
I hope we will return sometime soon.

Room Tip: Had a standard room which was good. It is a bit noisy from the many wedding receptions. If you . The...

A beautiful Inn in a lovely village. The rooms are very quirky but beautifully fitted out, and the bar is very cosy. The food in the restaurant is wonderful, dinner and breakfast were perfect.
There was a little noise from a wedding but it finished at a reasonable time.

My fiance and I stayed at The Old Inn to celebrate both of our birthdays. We are having are wedding here in October so we thought it would be a great chance to see what our guests can expect! We stayed in the Oriental Poppy room which was absolutely gorgeous, it is above the function room so we could hear the wedding below but it finished at 12 so it didn't keep us awake.

The food in the Lewis dining room was excellent and the service was perfect. The staff were polite and friendly throughout our whole stay and we really can't wait to come back to get married!

Room Tip: If you want an early night then ask for a bedroom away from the function room but the music stops at...

Had a very delicious afternoon tea here. The service was impeccable and the food was lovely. Only complaint was that when we booked we specifed no fish in the sandwiches. We got fish but didnt complain as we didnt want to make a fuss. They were eaten anyway! Have had afternoon tea in well known Belfast hotels but must say this was the best and not as expensive. We would return and highly recommend

We ended up in the Crawfordsburn having been unsuccessful getting refreshments in the Cultra Inn. As always the Crawfordsburn was welcoming and staff helpful. We enjoyed our visit and refreshments & pannacotta was perfect. Given our previous experience at one of their local competitors (Cultra Inn - see review) it was very satisfying to find that local Co Down hospitality does exist. If you are a visitor please skip the other & go to the Crawfordsburn.

Thank you Crawfordsburn.
