The rope bridge is well worth a visit; even just for the walk to it from the reception area. It is a little nerve wracking for anyone uncomfortable with heights but the views are excellent and crossing is not as hard as might be expected. The rope is actually steel rope now!

This is truly a breathtaking sight. I was a little apprehensive about crossing the bridge, because I'm a little wary of heights. It was completely worth it and not as scary as I imagined it would be. It is a bit of a hike there and back, so not for the out of shape. The rope bridge itself it quite lovely and not scary at all to cross. The scenery on the other side of the bridge is breathtaking.

It's definitely worth the hike to get to the bridge and definitely worth overcoming any fear of heights to cross the bridge.

The coastline is unbelievably breathtaking and we agree with other reviewers...this was the most beautiful scenery in Ireland. The actual walk to the bridge is quite long and might be challenging for some people but if you can make it, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity. Crossing the swinging bridge can be harrowing as the wind swings it back and forth but it's pretty sturdy...just need to take your time and enjoy the moment. Stop in the middle to look around you and don't forget to have someone take your picture standing in the middle. Carrick Island is very small but just sitting taking in the views is memorable. Pretty windy on the island but very relaxing after the walk and the bridge crossing.
Had some hot chocolate and home made cookies in the little tea room on the way back...really good.
The staff are very friendly including the gentleman in the ticket booth who answered our questions about the English currency instead of Euros in the rest of Ireland. Enjoy!!

I planned for months to cross the rope bridge at this site and made it! The day we visited was quite windy so to make it across was exhilarating to say the least. It is a lovely walk to the bridge and back, even if you do not make it across the bridge. I wish I had more time to explore the little island that afternoon but our schedule wouldn't allow. I hope to return one day to explore further.

We went on a windy day and although the bridge doesn't move too much the hand rail was wobbling about. Bit scary but well worth it to stand on the rock and catch the view. Really nice staff and a good walk.
