“Skip it if it's too busy”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

This place was recommended to us by some friendly ladies on our Causeway hike. We decided to give it a go. Very cute cottage with wonderful views of the nearby hillsides. We ordered our food and waited, and waited. We helped ourselves to many pitchers of water, had to get our our soda from the fridge, ask at the counter for our pastries since our lunches were taking so long...at least we could eat some pie while we waited. Finally, as the place started clearing out, the waitresses noticed we were still waiting and asked if we needed anything...uhh, how about our sandwiches? An hour later, they realized the kitchen never got our food tickets. We would have mentioned something earlier but we only spoke up about 10 minutes after the people ahead of us got their food. Service was EXTREMELY slow and food was just so so.

“Friendly Family Run Place”
Reviewed June 11, 2013

Visiting the Red Door Cottage was like being welcomed into a family. They were friendly but not pushy, the food was lovely and the desserts were delicious. I would heartily recommend this sweet little place to anyone and everyone. It's a little hidden but well signed, and genuinely a place that is welcoming and happy. Would almost be worth taking another holiday just to go there again.

“Fabulous little cafe in idyllic setting”

Thanks Trip Advisor for helping us locate this one! Perfect for a spot of lunch with our little one. Great outdoor seating area with Wendy houses to keep her entertained. Staff were extremely welcoming and attentive. Will definately return!

“Fantastic find”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

If you want warm, freindly, wholesome food served with a side dish of fantastic company, then make sure you stop off at the red door cafe. We were staying at the nearby cottages and this gem was just a short walk.
We really hope this place does well and that their painted stones are a viable business venture
