We visited this cafe with the intention of ordering the Soup and Irish Stew as written on the board outside of the cafe. When we sat down, the waitress cleaned our table with a dirty cloth and the salt and pepper mills were on the floor. I could see into the kitchen, and the floor looked absolutely filthy, and the ladies in the kitchen had very dirty aprons on.
We saw the cakes and pastries just sat on the side table, to me, this did not seem a hygienic way of storing food, in the middle of the cafe where people were walking past regularly.
The waitress took our order and I quickly changed my mind because I was not impressed with the standards in the cafe. I ordered a cup of tea and my mum had a cup of tea and a piece of carrot cake. My Mum said the carrot cake was nice.
The lady who was preparing food in the kitchen was also coming out to take payments from customers, which is not good practice because money carries a lot of germs.
Upon leaving the cafe, the waitress was sat outside having a cigarette on the customer seating, and picking the dirt from underneath her false nails, which just confirmed my suspicions that the cafe was not hygienic.
I would not go back to this cafe based on the poor hygiene standards displayed on the day.
