My wife and I booked to stay here one night before travelling further around Ulster. We were impressed by the reviews and thought it worth a visit. The entrance is really nice and well maintained, the staff at the reception warm and friendly. The room we stayed in was nice, and the bed linen clean. The bathroom was also well furnished and modern although the wash basin was loose and the plug was broken. Not something I felt the need to comment on to the staff, but felt that this should have been addressed by the staff when cleaning and supplying the rooms.
Our view was also a bit disappointing. There are building works ongoing and the view out of our room overlooked the building site. Again, not a major issue; these things happen, but still not so nice to see considering the price of the rooms.
The spa facilities were great, although the sauna cabins could be a little bigger. They really only fit 4 at a time comfortably, if It's busy (it was), then there is not much chance of using them. The outdoor hot tub was a real treat, but again very popular, so one more would help at busy times.
The food was our biggest disappointment. The restaurant (gillies) was not busy but we were shown to a table stuck next to the kitchen. We asked to swap and did, but it was not much better. The waitress checked our reservation 3 times, yet still brought us the wrong menu. The food itself was very average. The hotels website makes a big deal about their great menus, but there was nothing that exciting on ours and the dishes we chose were just okay, but hardly worthy of a hotel of this class.
The cooked breakfast was buffet style which disappointingly, was quite cold.
Overall, we were not disappointed with our stay, but we both felt that for the price, the quality was not of such a high standard. We would return, but only if the food was improved and we had a room with a nicer view.

Just back from 2 night delux spa break (3 of us) which we thoroughly enjoyed. Room was lovely, bed especially comfortable with plenty of pillows. Melissa and Stephanie in the spa area were especially helpful with Melissa showing us around the boudiour and making us feel really at home and Stephanie was just lovely. Anthony the manager of the spa area was very attentive and asked us how we had enjoyed our treatments and was genuinely interested in everything we had to say about our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our treatments.

Breakfast was perfect and by far the best hotel breakfast I have experienced in quite a while. Evening meal in Gillies was lovely (very big portions) no extra sides needed!! The meal in The River Room was superb and was definately what I would call "fine dining". Staff were friendly and very attentive and the flavours of all the courses was fantastic. We all ordered different food all of which tasted amazing and there was no rush to get us out. This is the 3rd time I have stayed at the Galgorm and it just keeps getting better. Well done to all the staff and just keep doing what you are doing as you have got it right. We all feel totally pampered and thoroughly relaxed. Thankyou.

I booked one night dinner bed & breakfast for a Monday well in advance at the Galgorm, then decided 2 days before we went to book Sunday night online as well. When we arrived on Sunday, I asked if it was possible that we could be accommodated in the same room both nights running. Not only were we in the same room but Sunday's room had been upgraded to superior in line with Monday's booking.

The room was good, the view was good (over the river), the bed was great. Breakfast next morning had very good variety from cereal, fresh fruit, fresh pastries, crepes, bacon, sausages, yogurts etc etc.

My only problem with breakfast is the coffee - it is neither hot enough or strong enough. The coffee goes cold very quickly although it is served in a coffee pot, and just doesn't meet my own personal criteria for a quick coffee boost!

We spent the whole morning in the thermal spa enjoying the outdoor hot tubs, pool, sauna, heated beds.

Dinner that night was of a very high standard, fairly large portions, but tasty and well presented. The staff were pleasant and helpful, Bianca in particular looked after us very well.

Breakfast next morning was as before very good - apart from the coffee!!

Overall I have to say that I felt pampered and well looked after from our arrival. Staff were professional and pleasant. Our room was very comfortable (but why do hotels not place lighting over the wardrobe?), the food was great, the spa relaxing, the whole experience very good. But it does come at a price! We won't be making a habit of it

stayed at galgorm on saturday for 1 night the whole stay was fantastic the spa/restaurant/room/staff were all excellent.we stayed in a superiour suite over looking the river it was nice just sitting on the balconey with glass of wine just chilling the only gripe i have was it felt a bit rushed we could,nt check in until 3pm by the time we got to our room it was 3.30pm went to the spa about 4pm until 6pm and the a quick change for our table at 7pm. the food in gillies was fantastic and really good portions for being part of our deal.would come back here tomorrow but only if i got a really good deal it,s more expensive at weekends as you would expect . jurys still out if it was worth what we paid,so if you get a great deal and have,nt been yet then give it a go you won,t be disappointed

Stayed for 3 nights in a standard room, we were very impressed as we had a corner room and it was pretty substantial.
Food in gillies excellent. Breakfast in the mail restaurant was of a very high standard indeed. Loved the Irish bar, the bands, the Italian restaurant. A great idea to add these bars and restaurants on to the hotel.
We attended a wedding in the great hall and this is a wonderful venue for a wedding. All in all a fairly expensive hotel rate but the drinks and food were reasonable priced. 3.75 for a Guinness ! V impressed. The staff were all very pleasant and nothing was too much for all of them. Thank you and it was well worth the money indeed
