“Central hotel, really friendly great staff.”
Reviewed November 12, 2011

Stayed here for a wedding a couple weeks ago and had a good time. There is ample parking and free wifi in the lobby and breakfast was good. It was only a 30 second walk into town - although I suspect there are better shopping areas.

There was live music in the bar in the evenings and generally a great atmosphere around the place. There were lots of locals about the hotel which is always a good sign.

Room was fine. Lots of nooks and cranny's. Not sure how clean it was as there was a dirty sock lying on the desk and the bath had lots of long dark hairs on the floor (I'm blond). However, these were minor things to us. We were on the top floor and could hear the music from the bar, but was dull enough not to annoy us.

Will stay here again if I'm ever in the area, and talking to other guests at the wedding think we got the best value, service and the best atmosphere. I have recommended this hotel to other people already.

Room Tip: Make sure you don't get a room over the bar. I suspect it could be fairly noisy.

Adair Arms is a very comfortable, inexpensive and clean hotel in the centre of Ballymena. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Our room was spacious, clean and warm. Tea and coffee facilities were available in the room but no bottled drinking water, which we purchased at the bar. We had a very enjoyable high tea in the restaurant the evening of arrival and an excellent breakfast the following morning. Tea, coffee, toast and cooked breakfast were served at the table.
At the time of writing (October 2011) building work is ongoing at the hotel after which it will be improved with additional facilities such as a lift for the benefit of guests. I look forward to a return visit next time we are in this area and would have no hesitation recommending the hotel to friends.

Just back from a one night stay here and felt we had got good value for our money. With plenty of car parking spaces the hotel is right in the centre of Ballymena town .The room was quite spacious with plasma Tv and ,spotlessly clean .Our bathroom was quite compact ,again spotless with lovely fluffy towels but be aware only shower gel was supplied.Although the hotel is right in the centre ,we heard no noise and had a great nights sleep in a very comfortable bed.We were really impressed by the friendliness of the staff. Breakfast was cooked fresh as ordered , with a choice of cereals, fresh fruit and yogurts first. For anyone wanting to travel around N.Ireland this would be a good central choice.

Three of us stayed here, in two rooms, both of which were spacious, clean and pleasantly decorated. Loved the beautiful timber work and traditional decor in the public areas. Breakfast was lovely, good choice of cold and hot items and it was served in a beautiful, spacious dining room. We had dinner at the hotel one night. Food was fantastic. Two of us had the roast turkey dinner - highly recommend it - bring your appetite though, the servings were enormous! The location is good - near to bus and train stations and shops.

Good value friendly hotel but make sure you get one of the refurbished rooms in the new wing and away from the fire exit/service door which is noisy. Rooms modern, spotlessly clean and fairly well-equipped. Breakfast was OK not great. Had a sandwich in the bar which was fine. Overall would recommend as a good base for touring NI at reasonable cost.

Room Tip: ask for refurbished room away from fire/service exit
