Stayed here for one night on a dinner, bed and breakfast special which was reasonably priced. although we had a few issues with the room and check in, these have since been acknowledged and rectified and I am happy with the outcome. dinner was
lovely and the restaurant staff were very attentive. breakfast is excellent, best iv had anywhere. fresh local produce and more than enough to choose from. Lovely surroundings and beautiful location.

I stayed in the Glen Cloy room and the cleanliness was excellent. The view from the room is superb and weather permitting you can see the Scottish mainland. The garden offers a wonderful place to walk and relax with the sound of the river running out into the sea.
The food is superb with an excellent selection of local produce and the breakfast selection puts many other hotels to shame, certainly sets you up for a days business or sight seeing.
The staff were extremely couteous and helpfull at all times.

I was advised that ours would be a brief stopover for coffee and a snack in the hotel restaurant. Despite our intention, ours became an extended stay while waiting - first for the waiter, and then for our food. He forgot to ask about drinks, brought coffee out about 20 mins before the scone, got the order wrong, and a simple meal took about an hour to complete. Not only that, but it was over-priced and underwhelming. I would suggest you skip this place and keep driving if you want to stop for something at all satisfying.

We held our wedding in the Ballygally Castle hotel this year. Right from our first meeting with Stephen Perry (Managing Director) up until our final guest departed, Stephen and his staff provided us with an outstanding service. The picturesque location and grounds was what initially attracted us to the hotel. It offered both old style charm with modern amenities, making it an ideal choice for us.
A menu that was tailored to our (demanding!!) request was duly delivered to perfection on the day. Every detail was attended to by Stephen (he was even spotted wheeling a guests' baby in the hotel lobby during the speeches). His staff were professional, attentive and friendly, which helped to ensure we had a memorable and joyous day.
The unique characteristics of the hotel were enjoyed by our guests; private garden with stream and scenic bridge, en-suite bathrooms located in the castle turrets, ghost room for those brave enough and exquisitely comfy mattresses that numerous guests wanted to take home. All these aspects serve to make the Ballygally Castle hotel an ideal choice for a wedding or just a relaxing break.

As part of a tour group we stopped overnight at this hotel overlooking Ballygally Bay. The hotel room roomy and clean. I did not have a view of the Bay but it was just across the street and the hotel is a stone's throw away from the steps to the beach. One had to pay for wifi in the room but it is free in the lobby and the signal was strong.

We had a set menu for dinner and the salmon was delicious. I quickly learned that in Ireland potatoes, mashed or boiled, are guaranteed to be served as part of the entree! Breakfast was buffet style and the selection was great. There even was a bottle of Bushmills that was meant to accompany your porridge!

Staff were courteous and efficient and obviously could handle large groups.

We booked in for a friends wedding at this hostoric old casle /hotel ,complete with its own ghost.
I asked for a view overlooking the Irish Sea and was not disappointed-Big thank you !It was wonderful to watch the waves rolling into the shore which was less than 50 yards away ,plus the view of Scotland was breathtaking.Even more dramativ next morning as a storm rattled the window panes and waves crashed onto the beach
The room was terrific with a double king size bed ,clean warm and very well appointed, tea and coffe machine and large TV We had asked for turkey sandwiches plus an ironing board and they were delivered with charm and effeciency .The food was just delicious all the better for being washed down with a bottle of rose Champagne-yum yum
Later that evening the meal at the wedding reception was just perfect as was the service.
The bed was so comfortable and despite being over the dance hall (I would avoid room 102 ) if you are a light sleeper , I slept like a log
The next morning a treat awaited me , probably one of the best breakfast I have eaten in a long time . Delicious Irish bacon and sausages to die for , this together with fresh scrambled eggs and all the trimmings made the visit to Ballygally complete
Pleasant , effecient staff , good rooms , super food and great views. what more could you ask for ? More bacon please !!!

Room Tip: 1) ask for a front room 2) Not 102

We stayed here because our group tour stopped here, but we would seek it out on our own again. It is a historic property built onto a castle, and the service was great, the bar and restaurant were lovely, and the grounds (and castle tower) were just beautiful for walking and exploring. The beach across the street was a true unexpected perk. We walked and picked up shells and water-polished stones (never expected to be picking up shells on this Northern Ireland trip!). A number of our tour mates had the same reaction. The rooms were a little compact with large modern-size beds in them, but they were well outfitted and comfortable and the bathrooms were HUGE. We all loved the place and wanted to go back!!
