We were lucky and had a nice room with an ok view. Got a good deal for just one night with dinner included. Staff were attentive when they needed to be. Dinner disappointing. Little atmosphere. Like a school dinner hall. My husband had steak. Most of which was fat. The manager(I assume) appeared and suggested he had not enjoyed his meal. This was well dealt with and taken off the final bill, which was pleasing.
Wouldn't be in a hurry back. Just okay.

Good points

Excellent view over water
Bed was very comfortable
Room was clean

Bad Points

Terrible Customer Service - receptionist practically hung up the phone on me after I phoned down to see if the ice we had ordered (45 minutes previously) was going to be long.
TV didn't work properly the first night of stay, when said to reception they said they didnt know..but for 250 pounds I expected a working tv.
Food was terrible, and charged an extra 25 pound for an all inclusive meal for sides and one drink.
No parking spaces available on the saturday!
The local (only) shop which opening times sad 9-9 was closed at 7...

As a young couple travelling we felt out of place and unwelcome in this hotel.
Felt it let down the hastings hotel name.

Very nice hotel within driving distance of the Giant's Causeway. The room was nice, although the shower had very little force. Breakfasts were good, dinner as well. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere of a pub down the road, the Halfway House, two nights. I would have to say that the best thing about the hotel was the staff. They were all very friendly and went out of their way to help you. I hily recommend this hotel.

I stayed at the Castle for two nights with my husband and 15 months old son. Checking in the guy on reception Scott was really friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and perfect to accommodate our sons travel cot. Room 202 was very clean and comfortable, only negative was the shower had very little power. The castle has a lovely restaurant and we ate there on both nights and really enjoyed it. The breakfast was really tasty especially the black and white pudding, think the best I ever had. Plenty of food supplied.
Also the castle has a beautiful walled garden which is definitely worth a visit. We would stay at the castle again for sure. If I had to give any negatives it would only be that I felt the restaurant staff were a little young and inexperienced because on both nights we ordered a bottle of red wine and once the member of staff poured our wine they put the lid back on the bottle. But they were very friendly.

Room Tip: We had room 202 was very spacious.

Room Tip: Sea view would have been nice

stayed here with my 2 kids on friday 6th april, family rooms ok, but look out over kitchens and heating boilers. atmosphere in hotel good, BAR food was really, really bad, 45 min wait for 2 cold panninis, chicken nuggets and chips for wee one..£28.00!!!!! and we were one of only two tables seated. bar staff so unhelpful and unprofessional when i complained. When checking out I mentioned it to receptionist, who was more than apologetic and gave me a FULL REFUND for meal. Pity i had to take the kids to the local spar to get sumthing nice to eat the evening before!!
Lovely hotel , but take a packed lunch!

Room Tip: ask for sea view.
