A wonderful estate for an Autumn walk through the gardens and woods to the community vegatable garden ( Fresh Veg available.)
Stunning Autumn colours, and kids activities available.
A Caravan Club CL is also available in the estate grounds.

“Lovely place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012 via mobile

This is a lovely place to visit, the gardens are spectacular even in Autumn, the house has loads of interesting paintings, the rooms are beautiful and the stewards are well informed. There is a very nice cafe set up in the stables.

“Corporate sponsored day by Coles Miller LLP”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2012

Being a member of the staff at Coles Miller solicitors gave us, although we didn't need it, the necessary impetus to visit one of the National trust properties we love to visit.

We are members of the National Trust and I would recommend anyone taking out annual membership and going to see this magnificent house and gardens.

Well signposted so no real need for a sat nav. but if you have one use it wisely that is all I can say.

The house is splendid, but follow the path round and meander through the gardens too. Go in springtime and see the famous snowdrops, a sight for sore eyes after the winter gloom.

Take tea in the tearooms and have a huge cream tea, well we did and we were glad of it I can tell you, after the house and extensive gardens, but also simply for the pleaseure of it all.

“A gem of a house”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2012

National Trust property in excellent condition. Still a working estate with sheep and cows grazing the grounds. Old history and family that have only ceded the house to the trust since the eighties. Usual shop and good value cafe. Well worth the visit.
