Description: Set within the heart of Holme for Gardens, the Orchard is a light and airy destination with wonderful views across the Purbeck Hills. Light refreshments including coffee, tea, hot chocolate and our Holme-made cakes and scones are served all day. Don’t miss our delicious Dorset Cream Tea.Supporting our local suppliers is important to us and our lunch menu showcases just some of the fantastic produce available to us in Dorset. The “specials board” changes regularly to reflect the seasons and our locally sourced ingredients. Much of our fruit and vegetables are grown right here at Holme . We have a wide range of soft drinks including locally pressed apple juice, elderflower pressé, mineral water from the Somerset hills as well as a refreshing, classic Coca Cola. We're licensed too, so why not enjoy a glass of locally brewed beer, Dorset cider or a crisp white wine from the vineyards situated in the Dorset hills. The Orchard’s terrace area and pond side seating is perfect for al fresco dining. A tranquil spot to relax-a-while over lunch, surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers.

“Saturday lunchtime.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2013

Very popular with the Dorset OAPs on our visit. That's not a criticism just an observation. The garden centre car park was packed and I think everyone was there for the food at the tea rooms. I can't say I blame them.

“Sunday morning haunt”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2013

We went here on Sunday morning with the in-laws as a change from our normal garden centre as this one had been recommended by friends.
We were not disappointed. The Orchard Tea Rooms were very light and airy with a good choice on the menu. As we were trying to be goodish we only had scones and cake but all was very good.
The patio area and area around the pond looked very inviting and imagine it would be a lovely place to sit in the sunshine over a breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea but as the weather was not on our side we will have to go back to experience this.
Apart from the tea room there is an excellent value for money farm shop, nice gift shop and a garden centre which was well stocked with some different plants.
There is also a pick your own which we went round but it was obviously the wrong time as there were slim pickings for us but it was a very nice place to be and we will just have to go back and time our visit better.
The staff throughout the tea rooms, shops and garden centre were all very friendly and helpful.
They also do a loyalty card which you can use in all areas. We signed up so will have to go back.
Have to say think we have changed our normal sunday haunt to The Orchard Team Rooms and Holme for Gardens.
Give it a try and support a more local garden centre/tea room than the more well known ones in this area, you will not be disappointed.

“Now even better”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

As a regular visitor to the Garden Centre and The Orchard Cafe, we can now enjoy even more time relaxing in the lovely extended patio around the (extended) pond. We went there with family and a well behaved little dog. Had a light lunch, then went fruit picking and came back to The Orchard for cream tea. Perfect!

“August visit”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2013

sad to say we were very disappointed with our visit to the Orchard Tea Room on wednesday the 14th august especially as the assistant in the coffee shop openenly laughed at us after telling us that lunches stopped being served at 2.30, we arrived at about 3.30pm and asked for a toasted sandwich for the kids while we wanted a cream tea!. needless to say we didnt stay!. just to say I would think twice about visiting this place if its after 2.30pm cos they are not very accomodating.

“Always warm and welcoming”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2013

Have been visiting here since it first opened, the oak building is always light and warm in winter and cool in summer. The choice of food, from soups to roast dinners are so obviously home made, prices being very reasonable for a good size serving. Can be very busy at weekends, with it being a favourite haunt for cyclists and locals, have never had a problem getting a table though. Good selection of drinks, hot, cold and alcoholic available at standard prices. Also have good selection of Purbeck Ice Cream. The food quality is very good and the service excellent, especially from the lovely Sonia who gives the impression that no request is too much trouble. The tea room is within the garden centre, which stocks some fantastic plants at excellent prices. There is also a gift shop and a farm shop, selling a good range of stock and most of it local. Also, have 'pick you own' through the year too, try the strawberries - usually have at least half a dozen varieties to sample!
