“A great welcome to Dorset”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

Good experience from beginning to end. Our rather spontaneous trip down to Dorset for just the one night was made all the better for having stayed at 2 Heath Cottages. I booked our room based solely on TripAdvisor reviews so was fairly confident that we'd be treated well. We were not disappointed and even though we only spent a few hours there, my husband and I both came away saying that a) we'd recommend the place and b) we would book a longer stay there. I think that's an endorsement all on its own but I'll expand a little:

- Comfort: the room we stayed in, although on the small side, does not feel cramped or cluttered, they have utilised the space very well. It's furnished very nicely indeed and the bed is very comfortable. Bed linen is top quality.
- Clean: the house is spotless
- Great shower!
- Breakfasts are a real treat - we both had cooked breakfasts which had all the flavour and quality that you'd expect from a proper B&B breakfast, but without all the associated grease/ saturated fat. Top marks for that, in my books.
- Location: situated on a main road, very easy to find and centrally located for all the tourist attractions in the area.

Denise and Sean are professional and courteous without being too formal, helpful without being overwhelming and I really do think that their venture will be a great success. We wish them all the very best going forward and hope to stay with them sometime in the near future.

Our stay at "2 Heath Cottages" was a joy to behold, we were made so welcome we almost felt like part of the familly. Denise and Sean are strong candidates for hosts of the year (if there is such a thing) . Our room was spotless comfortable and well appointed with a bathroom almost the same size, the rest of the cottage was in similar condition. Breakfast was first class as was the picnic lunch we asked for each day, as avid bird watchers walking on the heaths we were not able to buy snacks so the picnic lunch was a godsend. If you are interested in bird watching Heath Cottage in an ideal possition, almost surounded by Nature Reserves with Arne just four miles away. The Eagle has certainly landed at this B&B.

Room Tip: Our room "oak" was great, at the back of the house wiith garden views and lots of birds.

We stayed with Sean and Denise on the 15th September for one night and had a wonderful stay. They are great hosts, the room was superb and very clean. Breakfast was tasty and all sourced locally. Would definately recommend anyone in the area to stay over. We were looking for a B & B in the area as we were going to Monkey World the next day....... only wish our stay could have been longer

Having read previous reviews of 2 Heath Cottages prior to our visit, I can only agree with everyone else. Sean and Denise were very friendly and extremely helpful hosts and the cottage was immaculate throughout. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable with all the facilities you would need. The full English breakfast was delicious and Denise was always happy to provide anything else - just in case you actually needed more toast, tea or coffee! One quite unique feature about staying at this B & B is that you are able to go for a leisurely stroll through the beautiful Sandford Heath Nature Reserve - by entering through a gate at the end of the garden! Mum, Dad and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 2 Heath Cottages. I would recommend this B & B very highly indeed and would have no hesitation in staying again in the near future.

Room Tip: A really great place to stay - it`s as simple as that!

The hospitality of Denise and Sean at ‘2 Heath Cottages’ is second to none in our experience; very welcoming and helpful throughout our 4 night stay. The fairly recently refurbished ensuite rooms are neat and tastefully furnished and are kept extremely clean. Breakfast is first class offering a, excellent ‘Full English’ (mainly local produce) or a continental consisting of a delicious fresh fruit salad, Greek yogurt, and croissants.

We were invited to “feel free” to venture through the back garden and strip of woodland beyond to quickly emerge onto Sandford Heath part of the Dorset Heaths National Nature Reserve. Being August the heather was in full flower. The network of paths made for a very therapeutic evening stroll after several hours on the road!

‘2 Heath Cottages’ is situated roughly halfway between Poole and Wareham very centralised for all the main attractions and some excellent eateries in this lovely part of Dorset. We would recommend the ‘Sandford’ a few minutes down the road for good, reasonably priced food and very good service. Fantastic coastal walks, the excellent beaches of the Studland peninsular, Knoll Gardens, etc are all within 20-30 minutes. Swanage, Weymouth, Poole, Bournemouth and the New Forest beyond are all within easy reach by car.

I also booked due to wonderful reviews and was not disappointed. Our room was beautifully and stylishly decorated we were in the King size Room and the bathroom was a large family size with a shower and bath. The room and bathroom was spotless and lovely clean, fluffy large towels were provided. Located on the main road our room was at the rear so noise was not an issue, was convenient for access to everything. The lovely garden of the house backs onto a the Nature Reserve which is worth a wander. When you walk through the garden gates you almost have a "Narnia" experience. Breakfast was provided with everything you need with excellent quality produce and fresh doorstep toast. Denise and Sean were more than helpful and I hope they continue with their enthusiasm which is so welcoming. Would like to spend more time in Wareham and I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: The Kingsize room has a massive bathroom with shower and bath and overlooks the lovely garden.

Was working at a nearby company and needed to stay over. 2 Heath Cottages was only 4 minutes away but I was transferred to a different world. A very picturest house and gardens with beautifully appointed rooms. Evening meal was at a local pub which gave me an insight into the area, I need to come back when I have more time to explore. Breakfast was extremely tasty and kept me going through to supper. My thanks to Sean and Dee for looking after me. I will be back.
