I absolutely love this cinema, along with The Plaza in Dorchester they must be two of the best cinema's in Dorset. Very reasonably priced with an intimate feel. Very nostalgic, my teenagers loved it, it was a pleasure to see them enjoy seeing how things were years ago whilst getting to see a recently released film. I highly recommend taking a trip here

As I live in the town this the local cinema. Its unique this is an old cinema which still has the feeling of an old cinema, which is great as it has plenty of legroom, you may also purchase drinks from the bar and take them to your seat. best of all is that the projection and audio has been up dated to modern day standards.
Also quite a few epic block buster films have been shown on the opening night ie SKYFALL
At present admission is reasonable £6.00 adult £5.00 consession.

Slip into one of the seats with your glass of wine lean back and take a deep breath and visualise a bygone time with gas lights and plush velvet drapes. The screen is up to date and the films carefully chosen either as new releases or old favourites. Have fun participating in the Purbeck Film Festival or short film competitions. There is something for everybody to enjoy and ice-cream before film starts.
A true Dorset Gem to cherish and support for generations to come.

This is an experience when you visit this cinema. It is very, very old and quaint. It is quite small and only has an upper seating area but you can order a drink that will be served in the interval, how is that, and I don't mean diet coke or tea I mean a drink in a wine glass!!!

They have all the latest films showing and then once a year have a film festival of the oldies films.

Worth going to for the experience alone!!

Always an eclectic programme featuring new releases with a mixture of the best of international cinema and golden oldies. It has a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff with a wonderful line in "Wallace and Grommit" style local advertisements. Add to this the ability to take your glass of wine to your seat, the quality and range of the Purbeck Film Festival and the early showing on Tuesdays which allows time for a fish and chip supper in the town and you truly have the best of independent cinema. Much appreciatde by we local pensioners
