Always an eclectic programme featuring new releases with a mixture of the best of international cinema and golden oldies. It has a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff with a wonderful line in "Wallace and Grommit" style local advertisements. Add to this the ability to take your glass of wine to your seat, the quality and range of the Purbeck Film Festival and the early showing on Tuesdays which allows time for a fish and chip supper in the town and you truly have the best of independent cinema. Much appreciatde by we local pensioners

Sweet little cinema in a rural Dorset town. You will think you have stepped back in time for this pleasing experience. Try it and see.

Forget faceless multiplexes, if you want a proper cinema experience, go to The Rex in Wareham! An intimate and atmospheric venue with its original twin seats still in the back row is an absolute delight! Everything about this fabulous cinema is historic, except for the projection itself which is digital so you get the best viewing experience possible. We went for a private showing (what a great idea to hire a cinema for an event) but if you want to see one of the new releases, make sure you don't miss out - it only has 130 seats! The cinema was saved and is run by enthusiasts so make sure you reward their efforts by supporting them - I can guarantee you won't be disappointed!

Historic small-town cinema run by people who love films. Real cinema ambience. I love it. All the modern films worth seeing, and some old favourites too. Hello to Jason Isaccs, and remember the wittertainment code of conduct!
