We stopped here on our way home from a weeks holiday. We were not expecting to have such a brilliant time as we did!

It wasn't too busy, although there were a few school trips milling around.

The different types of monkeys to see were amazing our favourites (predictably) were the orangutans And chimpanzees we watched them for ages and even had a treat when one if the baby chimps jumped on the window where we were watching, it was lovely to see then so close up.

The park itself is well laid out with lots of Picnic areas and its very peaceful walking around with all the trees. We walked the woodland walk and came face to face with 2 wild deer!

Lots of places for the children to play and the cafes looked good, we had cake in one which was tasty!

The gift shop was amazing! There was so much to look at and lovely things to buy, some of which was a bit pricey but to be expected as with all gift shops.

We would definitely come back again to visit and could easily spend all day here.

Excellent value for money considering the work they do here. Well done Monkey World!

The work that Monkey world does is fantastic. The provide a sanctuary for primates that have had awful lives. They seem so happy and well looked after here. This was a wonderful day out for such a reasonable price, with lots to see. I would definitely recommend visiting and supporting what they do. Also I would suggest watching Monkey Life, which is a TV series based here.

Been here before when the monkeys seemed more lively. I think we should have gone nearer to lunchtime rather than when they first opened up as they all seemed quite sleepy. A nice day out none the less. Food and drink in the cafes was good.

Visited for afternoon, late enclosures for monkeys, so sometimes difficult to see them. The monkeys all seem happy with plenty of space and trees to climb. Interesting talks given by the park staff. Mobility chairs available if needed. Few cafe on site but lots of space for picnic. Nice woodland walk.

Good day out

I visited Monkey World with my husband and two young children.

We had a lovely day, watching the monkeys and playing in the play areas.

The monkeys all looked well cared for, which was great to see.

It was interesting, although saddening, to learn more about the trade in monkeys as pets.

All in all a good, informative place to visit. Would definitely recommend, especially if you like animals.

We spent a lovely few hours at Monkey World today. I rarely go to places with animals in as I don't agree with animals being kept in captivity, but I feel differently about sanctuaries and have visited a few worldwide, where they rescue, rehabilitate and give stimulating lives to animals that have had horrific pasts and cannot be released back into the wild.
Monkey World is one of the best of these I have been to. The ingenuity and thought behind the stimulation available in the enclosures is amazing. We spotted apes or monkeys in most of the enclosures, but even when we didn't, we stood and marvelled at how the natural flora and trees had been used and embellished and added to to create the ideal (as far as it can be in UK) stimulating environment and life for these monkeys and apes
Every animal we saw seemed happy and relaxed and to be living it's natural life, despite being gawped at by we humans.
A wonderful place for a visit, with some lovely photo opportunities of the inhabitants

We visited here last Sunday. Unfortunately the weather had just turned cold,so many of the monkeys must have been huddled inside as they couldn't be seen. Most if not all of the habitats had indoor viewing, so we were able to see and be entertained by the chimpanzees, the orang utangs, and a number of other smaller species. I was very impressed with the entire set up. The habitats were huge, well maintained and the monkeys all appeared in good condition - and it was heartwarming to see that almost all of them were rescued from smugglers or taken from places where they were mistreated to this place where they are safe.
At the end of the park there is a huge play area for kids, with huge nets and slides, and in nice weather the ideal place to sit and eat lunch.
There was also a schedule of keeper talks throughout the day - these were very informative.
The only downside we had on our visit was that we couldn't walk into the open Lemur habitat because a 'non friendly' lemur escaped out into the friendly population. Its a shame as that would have been great for the kids, but couldnt be helped.
Nice cafe and gift shop here too - Kids loved it and will definitely come back but would try during warmer times!

It doesn’t matter what age you are, this is suitable for anyone and everyone who loves cute fluffy monkeys!

Nice to see that all the monkeys are cared for so well and they all look happy and healthy - you can tell that their welfare is more important than putting on an attraction for the public, there are areas which the public can’t access where the monkeys can escape being on display which is good to see.

Lots of enrichment for the monkeys with toys, frames to climb and big enclosures.

We really enjoyed the visit, Hananya’s group of Chimps were super funny to watch and we go to see them being fed so they were all really excited and making lots of noise and playing. The Wooly monkey babies were adorable!

Free Parking
Toilets
Play Areas for the kiddies
Easy access for prams, wheelchairs ect
Cafes (not all open off peak)
Gift Shop

Definitely recommend popping in for a visit if you’re in the area.

It was a cold day and many monkeys were inside their houses but they have great enclosures. We will return on a warmer day. Cafe not too pricey

Visited on a quiet day which was great to view all the monkeys. This meant the visit was about 2.5 hours.

Toilets were clean, plenty of places to eat a picnic.
