I have eaten at the kings arms on numerous occasions and it is also a favourite for my parents. However yesterday I went for a late lunch with my boyfriend. We were greeted and shown through to the almost empty restaurant. After choosing our meals, Spinach and feta filo parcel and a beef Sunday roast we went to order at the bar. My filo pastry was still raw apart from the very outer layer and the vegetables were dry and roasties full of grease and hard. My boyfriend was going to go up to the bar to say about the parcel not being cooked but I said we should say something when the waitress came to check on us. No one came over. When the plates were cleared we mentioned our complaint to the waitress who wasn't concerned and didn't even say sorry. We went to pay at the bar, as again we were ignored by the staff. We mentioned again the poor quality of the food and we're met with very gormless expressions from a young man slumped down in a chair by the bar. We were offered a 'just knock 50% off the price of the filo thing'. No apologies or indeed any manners from either of the members of staff. Needless to say I won't be rushing back and I will no longer recommend the kings arms to friends.
