Went here for a family birthday, as this place is a firm favourite. We were not disappointed. I had the whitebait & then fish pie and it was lovely as usual.

The staff are very attentive & make a real effort to ensure you are enjoying yourself & have everything you need. There is building works going on, but the area it was in was sealed off, so did not cause any issue.

A great pub, expanding now - let's hope it keeps its fine quality service.

Arranged to meet friends here for a midweek lunchtime meal. Food was fine, but atmosphere just awful. They did have workmen in at the time but the pub was freezing cold so we - and the couple of other diners- sat with our coats on throughout the meal. Food seemed overpriced at £85 for four main courses, two pints beer, two shandies, 1 brandy and coke, 2 glasses of wine and no starters or desserts. Somewhat indifferent landlady and service - but maybe she was cold too!

I am sorry to see your visit to us was not what we would have expected. During our building works we did experience some issues but tried to continue without to much disruption. We have now finished all works and are fully opened complete with an updated heating system!!! Please try again I know you will not be disappointed.

Visited when having a weekend break and it was recommended by the owner of the B&B we were staying in. The venue has 2 areas, a restaurant and a bar. The restaurant is spacious, with plenty of space and a new extension area. There is plenty of choice on the menu, the food is delicious and although I went with a view to be good, and not eat too much, I couldn't move by the end of the night, it was all so delicious! The owners are friendly and the serving staff efficient. Highly recommend.

Visited the pub for the second time on Mother's Day. There was a more limited menu than usual due to this, but still a good choice. Our starters ranged from Soup, to Crab to breaded Brie and they were all delicious. The main courses followed a perfect amount of time later and we all enjoyed our selected dishes thoroughly. They included Roast beef, (meat perfectly cooked, great roasties), Plaice (great fish) and Belly of Pork (didn't have that lovely bit of crackling which was hoped for but still excellent). My only criticism would be that we only had two dishes of vegetables between 5, which just wasn't enough - the only disappointment. Bill came to £120, which included a bottle of wine and 3 pints, quite reasonable I thought! Waitress was helpful and friendly even on this very busy day. Will be back to the Cock and Bottle!

Went here for an evening business meal and found it to be excellent.
Set in the countryside and full of timber character features it makes it totally different from the anonymous pubs that are blighting our landscape.
The owners were very helpful and pleasant but the real star was the food which was very very good. I don't mind paying for quality grub.
Reasonably extensive menu.
