I have been here about a dozen times. The food is faultless and the service is very good. You are never made to wait very long and you don't feel rushed to leave. I have to admit I did prefer it when it was BYO alcohol as it made it a cheaper meal out but the drinks prices are competitive for the rest of the town.

Having lived in Sturminster for 5 years we have had the pleasure of take aways and meals out at Cafe Spice many times and have never been disappointed. With curry being one of our favourites we have tested out several establishments over the years in Ferndown, Christchurch, Poole etc with Family and Friends and by far this is the best, in fact our relations are always quick to suggest that they drive 40 mins to visit us and Cafe Spice!! Granted, the previous reviewers are right in saying the service is not lightning fast, but in our opinion its always very friendly and we enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, so have never counted this as an issue. We enjoy sampling the many varied meals on their menu. Being able to take your own booze was a real bonus for us, sadly now that they have a license we are not able to visit so often as the credit crunch means adding drink costs puts regular visiting out of our price range, but none the less, when pennies allow this place is one of our first choices!

The food was generally good, with a tasty chicken chat purree and prawn puree starter. It took nearly 40 mins for it to be served and we were the only ones eating there at the time. The mains were chicken korma, prawn korma and a garlic chilli chicken - very good with nice flavours and not too spicy on the chilli dish.

The mains were also slow to be served and the delay for the bill was long. I was fed up waiting and went to go and start the car. My wife had an interesting argument with the waiter. She had paid the bill and kept the copy for our scrapbook to help us remember where we have been. Surprisingly the waiter became agitated and wanted the bill back or he would not let her leave. He was quite surly and kept asking for the bill even after my wife explained what we wanted it for. Eventually he grudgingly gave her the kitchen ticket that was illegible.

Odd behaviour, slow service, nice food.
