Food wasn't bad but overpriced. Menu is really well worded but doesn't live upto the descriptions. I feel that they think they can charge more because of the amazing view that the whole restaurant gets.
Our food came in drips and drabs as parts of meals were forgotten on most meals. Chips Luke warm but the burger I had was quite tasty

We stopped by to use their afternoon tea service and did not stay overnight.

First the positives:

- The Heights provides an excellent venue for stunning views down towards the Chesil Beach and beyond.

The negatives:
- Indifferent attitude by staff
- 15 minutes to produce a pot tea
- cakes were far from fresh
- gloomy interior

We stayed for three nights at this hotel and had a great time, The staff couldn't do enough for you the sauna, steam room and gym were fantastic as was the food, We had three days of glorious sunshine so the outdoor pool was a relief, There was plenty of parking, There is a bus stop right outside the hotel which will take you into Weymouth, Buses run every eight minutes, Believe me don't bother using your car to go to weymouth parking costs a fortune you can hire bicycles for as little as £12.50 each locally delivered to the hotel per day so we cycled all round portland which is well worth doing,The views from the hotel restaurant are to die for, Ben and Gary are the Hotel managers they and their staff will do everything they can to make your stay a pleasant one We will definitely be staying there again Many Thanks Dave & Michelle.

Room Tip: Higher floors have less A/C unit noise

We stayed at this hotel last weekend for two nights. The hotel has a spectacular setting above Weymouth on Isle of Portland.
On arrival we were met by friendly staff and a warm welcome. We were slightly dissapointed with the room as it smelt a little fusty and being painted all blue was a little dated ,Having said that it was very clean with lovely white towels and bathrobe .The bed however was very hard and the most uncomfortable hotel bed I have slept in in a long time.I think this probably needs to be addressed unless you like an exceptionally hard mattress.
The breakfast was included in the price and was a buffet style help yourself. The choice was very good and again the staff were always on hand and very helpful.
All in all a nice hotel that just needs a few improvements to make it a great hotel.

Room Tip: perhaps don't go for the cheapest option.

Only dropped in for lunch, fantasctic view from balcony right along Chesil Beach. Good meal, not a wide choice, but very good quality and cooked to perfection. Nice place to have a spot of lunch after cycling over from Weymouth.

This hotel has highs and lows and I can see why it gets such mixed reviews. The overall impression is a hotel that needs updating as it has some fantastic assets. Views are amazing of Chessil Beach so they could make more of the outside space. The reception is welcoming and modern but the rooms need a facelift including the bedding ( very 1970s motel). The staff are very helpful and friendly and lots of them. And the food in the restaurant in the evening was delicious, even if the presentation lacked something. There is also a spa and beauty room (fully booked) and a sun trap of a pool. So give it a go and with a bit more business they might be able to update a few areas to improve it.
