Good for a drink sitting outside on a nice summer day. Food average and drinks expensive. Location good for Boat berth holders.

“Won't ever bother again”
Reviewed February 9, 2013 via mobile

This was the second time we attempted to eat here . The first time was a Thursday evening in January , I phoned to book dinner for two at 8pm , I was asked if 7:30pm was ok ? I said oh what about 8:30pm , as I prefer later than earlier for dinner out ! I was told no , as they 'wanted to close early!' And we were the only ones booked in anyway . We cancelled . Next time was Friday 8th Feb , we booked for 8pm arrived on time and as we entered restaurant there were about 12 people scattered around , and no one appeared to be eating. There were NO staff around at all , we stood there for at least 5 mins and decided to leave , there will be no 3rd time , shocking way to run a business !

“Pants”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

Visited last week for a midweek evening meal. At 1930, 2 punters in the place, 10 of us waited probably beyond a reasonable time for our starters, mine was excellent, pigeon breast but the med rare steak was garbage. The meal experience was not helped at all by the surly and miserable waitress who did nothing at all to enhance the experience or restaurant, probably considering us as a nuisance for her normally quiet Tuesday evening routine. Overpriced, over rated and trading on its location, which maybe fine in the summer, but in the winter months give it a swerve.

“Good view of the Portland Marina but the food wasn't anything special”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

We tried the ham, egg and chips. It was a good size portion but we have had better for cheaper elsewhere. This could be an excellent venue but is seems as if the service and kitchen just is a little lack lustre. This is our second visit and at least all the food arrived at the same time on this occasion. Room for improvement.

“A no frills well organised evening, with value for money, good service and a lovely environment.”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

We have come to an organised event with a blues band and set menu. £20 for two courses. We paid £7.50 for a plentiful cheeseboard that was very nice, but lacked a soft cheese!
The venue is lovely, the alcohol very well priced, we felt we were not being ripped off!

We are waiting for the live music to start and believe its gonna be good!

Only negative - the main course was served on cold plates. But it didn't spoil our meal, we ate fast!!
