Stopped here after a walk around Portland Bill. Efficient ordering service at a hatch and order number called out when your food is ready. A quick light bite of beautiful fresh crab sandwich generously filled and a portion of crisp cheesy chips, only comment would be the cheese would've been better melted rather than sprinkled cold on the top. Lovely setting with the lighthouses and sea views.

We arrived at Portland Bill after a tour round bits of Dorset, just in time for tea. This is the only cafe here, but they not resting on that and are making an effort to do things well. Three cream teas arrived promptly. The scones were more of a cakey consistency, but were nevetheless delicious. the cream was local (we asked) and the tea was leaves, not bags (double plus points). You have to pay in the gift shop (thus meaning you have to look at the 'gifts'); nothing much there for me, but the cream teas were fine and the view is wonderful.

Called here with Mrs just for a sandwich ordered at one of the four outside hatches so we could sit outside after a circular walk known as the Three lighthouse walk (about 3 miles). Tuna sandwiches arrived very quickly (it was quite busy) using a numbering system, and were of excellent quality.
Later we had some ice cream 99's . Highy recommended . Dinner later on was at the Crab House Cafe, just as you enter Portland 'Island' from Weymouth side.

Just returned from a tour of Dorset were we stumbled across this wonderfully sited café. The views from this place just don't come better than this. We only had a light lunch and found the food to be more than acceptable. The service was excellent and all in all I would recommend it to anyone.
