Just returned from a four day visit to Dorset and stayed three nights at Queen Anne House in Portland. The house is full of character with furniture and fittings to match. We stayed in the Oyster room that is at the front of the house and is subject to a certain amount of road noise although not unbearable. The room and en-suite was nice and clean. Breakfast was cooked and served by our friendly and informative hostess Margaret in the lovely dining room. To say there was plenty of choice is an under statement. Would certainly recommend if visiting the area.

We stayed at Queen Anne for three nights recently. We were made to feel very welcome and could not fault the breskfast. We stayed in the "White Room" and this is the reason didn't give it full marks it is a very small room you have trouble getting around the bed,it should be a single or
charged at a little less than the other rooms. Also the room was a little dusty we think that it may not have been used and it did not get another service just before we came.Saying that we would stay again but ask for different room.Overall very nice B & B.We enjoyed our visit.

Room Tip: Ask when you book which room you will be in and how big it is.

Recently revisited Queen Anne House for a third time, which speaks for itself! We like this comfortable B & B, splendid breakfast in a lovely dining room. Since we were here last (I think) some cunning double glazing has been added to the windows (without spoiling the old windows which are still in situ), so there is less traffic noise from the busy road - not that the road bothered us before: we are familiar with Portland and this is the only road in & out of the rest of it, but sometimes people are surprised by it. We will, we hope, be back!

Our daughter and family treated us to an overnight stay and we added a further night to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
We were made most welcome by Margaret who could not do enough.
The Queen Anne House has plenty of character with furniture and decor to match.
Our room (Lotus) was very comfortable with en-suite.
This was our first visit to the Portland area and Margaret was able to advise on places to eat. We were very pleased with the two places we choose.
The breakfast table each morning was magnificent and the food set us up for the day.
If we visited this area in the future we would definately stay at the Queen Anne House.
With Margaret at the helm it has a much more personal touch that a hotel.

Well what can I say, from the time we stepped in the front door until we left we thought it was Wonderful! The room we stayed in was lovely(The Lotus) plenty of room, bed was really comfy had great nights sleep. The breakfast was very tasty, we felt like Royals.. It was like a Feast all laid out on a large table. The house has some beautiful furniture that fits in well with the period of the House.

Comfy bed although room was a little snug ,no room either side of double bed.Well decorated.Breakfast was nice although had to order the night before..Breakfast was well laid out everyone sits around a large table.Coffee in morning was a little disapointing it tasted very grainy perhaps it was filter coffee put into a cafetiere.
The b and b is on a busy road although our room was at the back and quiet. You can park on the road to the side or in the methodist church car park and the b and b gives you a pass. The gallery cafe further down road was a nice place to go for a drink and a cake.If you go to restaurants nearby book in advance as all were booked up

I had a date with my hubby as an anniversary gift from our kids. Unique place to stay- and it was! what a place, full of history, old furniture easy mixed with modern one... Some of rooms ( White room) was small but what do you want from medieval period... Nice, clean shower, hot water, everything to spend your night. Finally, breakfast- we feasted like royals! Very taste and on time and fantastic atmosphere also :) thank you for having us. Highly recommended for stay.
