Ammonite Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #3 of 10 Corfe Castle B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence

This is a very welcoming and friendly B & B, and one of the most immaculate and cleanest we've come across. We used the twin room, which is compact and simple, but comfortable, with everything we needed, including kettle, hairdryer, and a large flat-screen TV with Sky; in a fridge at the bottom of the stairs in the hall was a tall jug of water and a small flask of milk for each room, to take up with us when needed. We had the sole use of a lovely bathroom just across the hall, which contained a large bath with shower. Breakfast was served in the cosy open plan kitchen/living area downstairs, and included a full English breakfast (if wanted), using some delicious local produce. The village of Corfe Castle must be one of the most idyllic settings in which to stay - stunning! This B & B is set off the main road, so is very quietly placed, and is only a couple of minutes walk from the village centre. Corfe Castle has several great inns/hotels for food, the famous castle to visit, and even boasts a steam railway. We certainly hope to return.

This is a lovely B&B in a wonderful setting. My wife and I had a room that had a stunning view of the garden and Purbeck Hills beyond. It was at the back of the house, which was an extension - our only problem was with the lack of insulation from ground floor to the bedroom, resulting in quite a lot of TV noise from below. Other than that, I would recommend this to anyone - especially the breakfast!!

Just back from a 3-night stay with Yvonne and Ray. We were welcomed into their beautiful home.

Super room with a spa-bath as a reward for long walks out!

Excellent breakfast and superb location.

I'm sure we will be back.

This B&B is in a perfect location - it's very close (5 mins walk) to the centre of Corfe Castle (village), but on the extremely quiet West Street, rather than the much busier (lots of traffic) East Street. Corfe Castle (village) is a beautiful village full of (mostly) cute stone cottages, and the ruins of the castle are very spectacular. We're really pleased that we stayed here and used it as a base to visit other places (mainly by car), rather than stayed elsewhere.

The thing that impressed us most about this B&B is how thoughtful the owners have been. For example, the entrance hallway contains leaflets and maps with all of the information you could possibly need to plan your days out in the area, and Yvonne very kindly lent us a detailed OS Landranger map for us to take on our walks around the area. The bedroom that we stayed in (East Room) was spotlessly clean, and contained a really good selection of teas and coffee, with milk and biscuits (all included in the room rate, which was extremely good value). Breakfast each morning was really good quality too, with plenty of choice.

Quite simply this is one of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed in, in a perfect location, for a really good price. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Steve and Rachel

PS: If you stay in Corfe Castle (village), make sure you visit the ruins of the castle and then visit the "Model Village". It shows a 1/20 scale model of the village with the castle in its complete form - it's an amazing piece of work and a real credit to the man who made it.

Westaway is one of my favorite B&Bs in forty years of traveling in Britain. Excellent accommodation (ask for the room that overlooks the garden), a breakfast room that looks out on the garden and a multitude of birds. Excellent breakfasts which Pauline will vary to your taste. A pleasant 10-minute walk to the village center. Highly recommended. We will return for sure.

Wonderfully relaxing b&b, Yvonne & Ray make you very welcome.
Our room, spotlessly clean looked out onto a lovely back garden.
Situated in the heart of the Purbecks, we had a superb view of the hills from our french window. Yvonne's cooked breakfast, gave us all a good start for the day.
Highly recommended for a peaceful, relaxing, getaway from it all holiday.
