Absolutely fantastic cottage. Positioned in the town so close to everything, baker, restaurants etc etc. Yes it is on the road and when we first arrived though 'oh no', but to be honest within 10 minutes you don't notice. The kitchen is very well equipped and the outside space by the kitchen is very private and nice to sit with a glass of wine. Also for a holiday cottage there is so much room! Parking is easy and off the road, but other than trips out everything is on the door step.
This is a lovely spacious, but at the same time extremely cosy cottage, located right in the heart of Corfe within sight of the Castle. It is located within a few minutes walk to the village centre and also the pretty train station, with its links to the nearby seaside resort at Swanage. There is a nice friendly pub within walking distance of the cottage and also another within a short driving distance, both serving good pub food. Kate the owner is extremely nice and makes the booking process so easy. It has a very spacious lounge and dining area. The beautifully lit modern kitchen is very well equipped with first class crockery, tableware and utensils etc. Comfortable beds and modern bathroom complete the picture with all towels being provided - Extremely clean, warm and well looked after, you feel at home as soon as you enter the cottage. There is off-road parking and the cottage itself overlooks lovely well kept gardens to the side of the property. We love staying here and have just returned from our second visit. We will return.... it goes without saying!
Cottage was very clean, neat & tidy. Lovely location & equipped with all you will need. Would recommend to all as a good central point to discover beautiful Dorset. Can see us returning at some point to discover more.
We have stayed in Corfe Castle previously and really enjoyed it as a destination. The Isle of Purbeck has so many things to do and staying right next to the Steam rail makes for some excellent days out. Lulworth Cove, Kimmeridge, Studland Becah, Brownsea Island, Swanage and Wareham - these is by no means a comprehensive list of places to visit, not forgetting Corfe Castle itself. The property was a real find, with an absolutely stunning downstairs, particularly the dining room, a well-equipped kitchen and the bed in the master bedroom was one of the most comfortable I have ever stayed in on a holiday rental. It's a real find to have parking in Corfe Castle and while the property is on the busier East Street, the double glazing took care of any noise from traffic. I would be remiss to not mention an incident at the end of the holiday when my husband and I managed to lock ourselves out while packing the car. I walked up to the nearby hotel who very kindly let me use their phone to contact the owners and they were able to give me the keysafe combination to get the spare set of keys, which is a genius idea that I have not previously come across and that really saved our bacon. I cannot recommend this property and the help of the owners highly enough, we had a great stay.
Wissett Cottage was an ideal base to explore this wonderful area. It was very comfortable, well-equipped and very pretty.
Communication with the property owner pre and post visit was excellent.
All furnishings were comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped.
It was useful to have a parking space with the rental.
The cottage is well located for local amenities and attractions and is a good base for day trips to a variety of places including the Blue Pool, Poole, Swanage, Lyme Regis, Studland Bay etc.
