“Anniversary break”

This hotel has an ideal setting in sight of Corfe Castle. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Meals were very good, but the portions could have been larger. The lounge had a large open wood burning fire, the aroma of which might not suit everyone as the smoke did blow back into the room a lot. Our room was situated on the first floor at the rear with a view of the castle and the local Swanage railway line and was extremely comfortable with all the facilities we needed. We would definitely use this hotel again.

My husband and I got married at this historic hotel on October 4th 2013. This place is accustomed to weddings being held there, so they know what they're doing and their wedding coordinator Beverly is good for guiding couples who are maybe not very sure as to how weddings go!

We were able to add our decorations, including our own table cloth/runner/napkins without any fuss. The whole process of organizing and planning ran very smoothly, and without any hiccups on their part. Beverly was very good about communicating when needed, which was essential for planning a wedding from Canada, where we live!

The food was a huge success, the service was excellent, the place was clean.

Our honeymoon suite included a four poster bed, faux fireplace, and a spa bath. As a girl who does not spoil herself, this was a fairytale.

Of course the castle ruins were used as a playground for me, my husband and photographer! We had a very fun photoshoot, only a quick walk away!

Complaints? The space of the dining room was a bit limiting, and the bar as rather tight as well, for holding us and our 16 guests. The alternative dining room was far too big however, and therefore needlessly expensive for us, who had no plans on dancing.

Room Tip: My rating of the "Rooms" is for the expensive honeymoon suite only, we have not seen what...

What more could you ask for which the amazing view of Corfe Castle. Very helpful and friendly staff, good food and a very very comfortable bed. We loved our stay at this Hotel and certainly hope we comeback for another visit.

Room Tip: It pays to turn up and haggle on the price we got a very good deal

Having cross referenced details on Trip Advisor, we booked in for 3 nights. On arrival we were shown to our twin room. As it was a hot night the windows needed to be open, outside on the flat roof was an air conditioning unit which was very noisy. Went back down to reception and was assured it was for the kitchen and it would go off at 9.30-10.00pm, eventually 3am it stopped. the bathroom had cobwebs on the ceiling & thick dust on the bath panel. we checked out the next morning but were still charged the full price of £133 for the night, £50 would have been more appropriate.

Room Tip: not room 8

This was our third dinner out during our weeks stay at Corfe Castle. For a small town there are many places to eat. Morton's is "up market" and offers traditional dining .We both had the fillet steak which was well presented, full of flavour and very tender. Great food ,excellent friendly staff .The only criticism we had was the rather austere dark oak panelling in the lounge - the large log fire made up for it !

We assisted in arranging the organisation of a celebration at the hotel as our son and his fiancee were living abroad. We and most of our guests stayed at the hotel on the night of the wedding. From the organisation of the wedding to the big day and reception Morton's House could not be faulted. The ambiance of the surroundings, the excellent food and attention to detail by Beverly and her staff all contributed to exactly the intimate, informal celebration that the bride and groom wanted.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a nice country retreat and Mortons House didn't disappoint!

The staff were wonderfully attentive and friendly. Our room (11) overlooked the incredible Corfe Castle ruins which was a welcome surprise having arrived late the night before.

The building itself is packed with character with the right balance of open brickwork walls and modern furniture & decor.

Location is ideal for exploring Swanage, Poole harbour and the 'lost-in-time' village of Corfe Castle.
