I will say firstly it is NOT my intention to deter you from a stay there- but I would want to know if someone had experienced the same unease i did in a certain location of the hotel ...Which I will add, was confirmed to be 100 % correct when i later asked at reception.
If you are not a believer in the afterlife, then a stay there will not bother you, nor might it if you do- but for me...from what I felt i would like to be aware in advance- i would be hesitant, veering to a I don't think so.
We visited for lunch which was excellent (hence 5 stars) as was service.
Hope it helped?

We're pleased you enjoyed your stay with us, particularly the food.

I can say that having been here for 13 years, we have never experienced any 'spirit' encounters. I can only think that our staff thought you might have been referring to perhaps another type of spirit, namely, whiskey, vodka or gin ;-)

We look forward to welcoming you back at some point!

Best regards

We had a lovely break, certainly the weather helped. Beautiful location, our room was very nice and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice. We ate in the hotel on two nights of our four night stay. The food was wonderful, the range of starters, mains and desserts was good, as was the service. The staff were friendly and helpful. Couldn't have asked for a more. Wi-fi in the room was appreciated as not all hotels offer this without extra charges.
Would stay again.

. Staff friendly and receptionist exceptionally helpful. Room fine and quiet at the rear of the hotel but bathroom small but functional.. Well provided with accessible electric sockets for all our needs. At breakfast we found a very good selection of cereals fruit etc. and a good choice of cooked dishes. We thought there was a good choice of starters and desserts on the dinner menu, but a limited range of main dishes. All were well cooked, presented and served. Wi-Fi in the room was appreciated.

Room Tip: Rooms at rear of hotel are quieter.

We had a very enjoyable meal with an excellent choice of wine. The service is 1st class and makes you feel very welcome. We live in the area and enjoy eating in many establishments but can always be assured of nothing but the best when dining at Mortons.

We liked the location of this hotel in the lovely village of Corfe Castle. The room was very comfortable and quietly positioned at the back of the hotel. The food was excellent and the service in the pleasant dining room was friendly and efficient. We stayed for 6 nights and we liked the hotel well enough to want to return at some time in the future.

Room Tip: The main road is very busy but rooms at the back or side should be quiet.

I agree with the previous reviewer. The rooms are small and the food is not as good as it sounds on the menu. The reception chop and change people's rooms at will and the communication between reception and staff is poor. We were put in a room different to the one we were offered and they mixed up the number of days we were staying. When we queried it they said they would sort it and then rang us after we had gone out to tell us to 'hurry back' to change rooms, we weren't even offered a hand yet there were three of them behind reception. Another night reception did not tell the staff about a dinner reservation we had made. The staff are good and cleanliness excellent but reception/admin is the problem - get your booking in writing.
