Visited the Greyhound again for their sausage and cider festival. Behind the bar was a well presented and polite woman who had been there for some time and two youths with untidy hair and beards. Unfortunately I was served by one of the latter. Taking an order for three sausages, mash and a pint of cider seemed beyond his capability but he eventually dealt with the order with help from the woman. He did say "it is not your fault mate" to me.

£11 was rather expensive for three sausages and mash but it was served quickly and tasted pleasant with the cider. The pub is a historic building in an excellent location which is why they are able to get away with high charges and poor service. There is little competition nearby but by all accounts the Castle Inn about half a mile down the road is better.

Nice pub with excellent food. The fish and chips really are something else. Same owner as the Bankes Arms Hotel.

My husband and I had the most wonderful salmon and smoked haddock fish cakes, every mouthful was a delight. Can't recommend this pub high enough.
It has so much character and history, you could just imagine Oliver Cromwell billeting his men there. There is a leaflet on your table explaining the history of the pub and wonderful pictures on the walls of bygone times.

Well located near the gates to Corfe Castle. We had a good lunch of the beef burgers as well as fish and chips, both of which were large enough to fill two large growing pre- to early-teenage boys. Probably at the more expensive end of pub lunches but good nonetheless. Worth having a read about the history of the Inn as well - almost rivals that of the adjacent castle.

The Greyhound's garden looks up to Corfe Castle and is a lovely place to spend a summer evening. The inside is a bit less salubrious and in some places is positively grim, unless you love lino, damp passages etc. The food can be amazing, I had the best crab salad I have ever had and other seafood items are great too.
