“Great food and very friendly”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

We live in Swanage and have been trying many of the local pubs now we have moved there. The Castle inn is definitely our new favorite. The pub looks great as you walk in, decorated with twinkly lights. We actually phoned ahead as it was very late lunchtime on a Saturday and the landlord was very friendly over the phone and said we would all be fed no matter what, which actually turned out to be after when they would normally stop serving food.
The specials board was filled with locally sourced produce and the meal we both had was excellent (sea bream). Also they have a toy box which our 4 year old loved as he took toys to the table.

All in all excellent food, very friendly staff, good local ales and a great location. Can't recommend highly enough.

“Delicious food.”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

Second visit to this little pub on the Corfe-Swanage road, this time for sunday dinner(yes dinner, at lunch time-see dictionary!). I had the roast beef which was very tasty, perfectly cooked. Shame i can never match this at home. My partner had the Pork Tenderloin in a cider sauce, which was, even better than mine, and the crushed new potatoes were so buttery and nice i had food envy. Only problem was, no room for pudding.

“Excellent pub food”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

We pre booked a table as stated it is a very small & popular pub so I would recommend that you do this. The staff are extremely polite & welcoming. We were served mostly by Liv who was especially friendly. The food was excellent, I has the steak & ale pie & the meat was plentiful, fresh & very tasty. My husband had the fish pie who found this to be of the same high quality. We would highly recommend this lovely pub & we look forward to returning again sometime soon.

“Great time”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

Took the family here, we all had great food, can recommend the Rib Eye medium rare, I have paid twice the price in very expensive restaurants and not had as good. My wife had the gammon, this again was delicious. We both had the Stow press cider, great flavour and clarity. My son had the kids pasta and gave it a double thumbs up. Any request, was dealt with promptly, and didn't seem to be any trouble. We did book before we went, and the pub isn't the largest building, but this is what local pubs are all about, atmosphere, so I would recommend giving them a quick courtesy call to check availability, as due to its popularity, it could get a bit busy. Friendly staff made for a really nice evening out. Thanks

“Great atmosphere and staff”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

This small restaurant is a really cosy and fun place to eat, if you can get a table.

Steak was just right, and lobster thermidore was a fantastic treat that didn't disappoint. Even the potatoes had been prepared with such care as to look like little jewels.

But the staff really stood out. Ready with a joke, helpful tips and just generally good friendly service.

A great little place.
