“Quirky, charming and relaxing”

We stayed at Cherry Orchard last week for a three night break. Will and Tanya are fantastic hosts. Their suggestions for places to eat etc were spot on, they are always on hand if you need anything, but generally leave you to get on with it, after a tour of the cabin and facilities.

The cabin is set in a little orchard. It is warm, clean and cosy and has everything you need for a short break. Although there is a cooker, there isn't anywhere really to prep food, apart from the dining table. Anyway, who wants to cook when they are on holiday? We ate out; there are plenty of places to eat, even quirky diets like mine (vegan) are catered for without any fuss. The George Inn is a very short walk away, and the Anchor Inn a short drive away in Seatown. Lyme Regis is just a 15 minute drive away and there are lots of places to eat there too. Or you could just get a pizza or something and whack it in the oven if you prefer - Bridport is just down the road and has a Morrisson's and a Waitrose.

You can see that a lot of thought has gone into making the cabin welcoming and cosy and it is the perfect place to come back to after a day exploring the delights of Dorset, and flop down on the sofa in front of a good film. And of course, there is the hot tub and sauna, located just a hop skip and jump across the garden in clean, private cabins. I can imagine that the whole place is really nice in the summer when the leaves are on the trees in the orchard - I can just see myself sitting out there all evening with a nice glass of wine .......

All I can say is give it a try - you won't regret it :)

“Perfect base for a relaxing holiday”
Reviewed March 14, 2015 for a stay in March 2015

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights in March 2015. We cannot fault the place, it was so comfortable and the perfect location for walking and generally exploring West Dorset. A two minute walk from one of the best pubs we have ever eaten at, the George Inn! Tanya and Will we're very helpful, Tanya gave us a walk around on arrival and left us to it for our stay but they were on hand if we needed anything. We are missing the place already, will definitely be visiting again whenever possible. Thanks Will and Tanya for a great stay.

Three very comfy nights at the Cherry Orchard. Easy to find, Will and Tanya as welcoming as mentioned. Its small but was absolutely fine for us and Mollie the Collie. We made use of the sauna and hottub and I had one of the best massages ever from Tanya. As others have said, it lacks work surface space for any major cooking but, hey! with the local pubs just a few minutes walk, serving good well priced food why would you.

My partner myself and the dog stayed at The Cherry Orchard Retreat for 3 nights over the weekend. It was a quaint well presented wooden chalet in the garden of the lovely and helpful couple Will and Tanya's cottage. The chalet itself was private and quiet , inside clean and comfortable , the bed sheets and towel smelt lovely ( could be a women's thing ) but important ! Had your essential's there that you would need ,lacking work space I would say to do big dinners, still able to do full English each morning ! but with 3 wonderful pubs locally all selling food its good reason to go out and for us its part of the holiday ! We stayed there in February and it was toasty didn't feel cold at all . The chalet comes with the use of the Jacuzzi and sauna which is a complete bonus ! Used and enjoyed ! Prime location for walking , we parked the car when we arrived and didn't get back in it till the Monday, you are in easy reach of many walking tracks and the coastal walks were completely amazing ( blue skies and sun all weekend ) Chideock itself has everything you need , we had lovely food at The George inn which is only ten min if that from Cherry Orchard worth a stroll ! With Will and Tanya on hand if required and their great folder to use you'll have all the info you need about the local amenities ,walks and generals about your let . Lovely weekend had !

Me and my boyfriend stayed for 4 nights and have never been in a lodge before. At first it seemed small but was perfect for two! I wouldn't recommend anymore than 2. The sofa and bed was very comfy, the wi-fi was faultless and the hot tube and sauna facilities were lovely. It was a nice 10 minute walk to a beach with cliffs which you can go on a long walk on and only a short drive from Lyme Regis which was a perfect day out! William was a fabulous host, shown us around and then left us in peace, if we ever needed him, we texted and he was very quick at responding and helping :)

“A Haven of Peace”
Reviewed November 16, 2014 for a stay in November 2014

At the end of a few stressful weeks we decided to "get away from it all" The Cherry Orchard fitted the bill in so many ways. It was perfect for us. We did not want a hotel with bustle and noise and a hectic atmosphere. Calm, quiet and laid back was what we were looking for and we found it here.
As previous stated the accommodation is relatively compact but more than adequate. It's a log cabin and blends in perfectly with the surroundings without being intrusive. Everything we needed was at hand. Even a torch left thoughtfully so that we could see our way through the gardens to the hot tub and sauna cabins. The Sauna and hot tub were very comfortable and invigorating. If anything is not there - just ask they are happy to please. Great food at the George - a traditional pub with a nice atmosphere and interesting menu. . Tanya & Will were awesome and generous with their time if you wanted it but invisible when you didn't!. Loved every minute Hoping to return soon.
