We had a wonderful break last October. We live on a farm where there is always too much to be done and neither of us are spring chickens, so a getaway every so often is imperative! We really reconnected and spent loads of time talking and walking; something that gets brushed aside at home. We told Louise we'd definitely be back this year, but sadly we are both suffering with mobility problems - however we are very keen to go next year, health permitting. Can't wait to see how work's gone on the garden and the old cottage above. Also, really impressed how dog friendly Bridport is, (even though we left our lot at home!)
Clean , quiet and cosy annexe in a good location up a winding road / track away from a busy road . Lovely garden with great views in which to relax . Easily accessible walks, and a very friendly, helpful and welcoming vendor.
The owners were very friendly and gave us an extremely warm welcome when we arrived (and were kind enough to leave a bottle of wine waiting in the fridge!)
The annexe itself was very clean and tidy and had a nice airy feel to it. It was well stocked with all the crockery, cuttlery etc that you will likely require. The surrounding countryside is very beautiful, and immediately behind the property are miles of National Trust tracks and paths to explore; you don't even need to step on tarmac to get there - perfect for dog walking!
Further afield there are lots of beaches to discover. It's a bit of a mixed bag as to whether or not dogs are allowed on them but we didn't have any real issues with finding somewhere to paddle and fossil hunt.
Being close (but not too close!) to the A35 makes this a great place from which to explore wider Dorset and Devon.

We enjoyed our stay with our little dog very much, plenty of walks around the studio and not far from the beach at Eype and Monmouth Lyme Regis which both allow dogs. We ate out most nights and found a lovely pub at Axmouth which was very reasonable. We would definitely come again.

Stayed in the annexe for a long weekend, beautiful location so peaceful and lovely little accommodation ideal for a couple and the dog. Close to Bridport, Lyme Regis and local beaches. Short walk to the beautiful Hardown Hill. Highly recommended.
