Beautifully restored carriage.Visited in April with our nephews and they loved it.
Marion, Naomi & Georgina were wonderful hosts and accompanied us for a walk.
Would definitely visit again.
You've never stayed anywhere like this! It's a beautiful old railway carriage, all old wood and brass, lovingly restored and fitted out with period detail, but also with all the creature comforts, from a genuinely usable kitchen to a shower to a pot-bellied stove that keeps everything snug in the evenings. It's the kind of place you just wake up and smile - and feel lucky to be there!
Oh, the area's really nice too - the kind of England film-makers look for when they want to film scenes of Olde England, all rolling hills and woods, and a beautiful coastline just a few minutes drive away, with some great family-friendly beaches, plenty of good walking, and that place where they filmed Broadchurch (it looks just the same in real life!) where you can sit on a quayside bench with some delicious fish 'n chips, and watch the world go by.
I almost didn't review it, 'cos it's the kind of place you want to keep to yourself, but speaking to the (very friendly & helpful) owners, that cat's already out of the bag - they've only been going for a year or so, but they're already getting repeat bookings. So if you fancy a really special stay in a very nice part of the country, I suggest you get in fast.
