Orchard Barn
Ranked #49 of 59 Bridport B&B and Inns

We have stayed at Orchard Barn on several occasions and will keep returning to savour the most magnificent hospitality that Nigel and Margaret provide to all their guests. Nothing is too much trouble and guests enjoy the luxuries of a 5 star hotel at this B & B which is so beautifully situated both near the sea and in the countryside as well as being close to the lovely town of Bridport. The food is out of this world and the rooms extremely comfortable. What more could anybody ask for? We will be returning as soon as we can. Thank you Nigel and Margaret - you have managed to spoil us yet again!

Room Tip: Both rooms are equally as good

We have just spent a great weekend staying at this small B&B / Hotel near Bridport and I have to say that is a fantastic find. The hosts,Nigel and Margaret, could not have made us more welcome. From a lovely iced cordial under the old apple trees in the garden on the banks of the river when we arrived, to the beutifully cooked breakfast in the morning, we were made to feel like hugely welcome guests. Our bedroom was comfortable, large, and nicely furnished and the bathroom well appointed and beautifully clean (as was the whole of the rest of the house). The guest lounge was wonderfully comfortable and the breakfast room was homely and cool on a hot Sunday morning. The breakfast included homemade preserves and almost all locally sourced items for the "Full English" which was very well cooked and delightfully served. I can honestly say this is the best small hotel / B&B that we have ever stayed in. You have to try it when you are in this part of the country.

Room Tip: There are only two - you will not be disaponted with either of them.

I have stayed twice at this B&B, once as a solo traveller and once with my parents. Nigel and Margaret, the owners, are lovely from start to finish and can't do enough to make your stay special. The attention to detail really makes this B&B special. The B&B is located in a quiet area and the beds are very comfortable. There is a fireplace in the common room that the two rooms share. The breakfast in the morning is fantastic. It really is a perfect B&B.

Room Tip: The room on the ground floor has its own access.

Simply the best B&B we have ever stayed in. First class accomodation, wonderful lounge with roaring log fire, amazing food and lots of little luxuries that made our stay special. Thank you Nigel and Margaret, we are looking forward to coming back one day!

We echo everything good people have already said about Orchard Barn; friendly hosts, amazing breakfasts, great location, comfortable and relaxing. We were fortunate to be the only guests staying there this weekend which meant we got the guests 'drawing room' to ourselves - outstanding! It was an effort to actually go out and do anything becasue we were so comfortable and well looked after. Would happily return and recommend to anyone. Better than many 5* hotels!

Stayed at the Orchard Barn for two nights and everything was just so perfect. Nigel is the ultimate host who really cares that we get to see the best of dorset. He recommended the most scenic routes, the best seafood restaurant on the beach and make sure i had my weekend paper. He left the fireplace blazing in the lovely drawing room for us to enjoy when we returned to his place. Breakfast was extremely delicious, thanks to Margaret. Our room was really pretty with its own entrance from the car park and its own entrance to the drawing room. It was our best bb experience on the trip.

I didn't think I was going to like it here but as soon as we were shown into the huge, beamed, very comfortable guests lounge with it's fire blazing I knew all would be well. Margaret prepared a beautiful afternoon tea for us while Nigel showed us round the garden and then to our lovely room. A spotless room with crisp white linen bedding, flowers on the table, a comfy sofa to lounge on and a sparkling bathroom. Our own private front door too. Breakfast is a feast here! Probably the best breakfast we have even eaten anywhere. From the beautiful menus to the locally sourced food, it was totally delicious. You can eat an evening "snack" here if you wish but we were still full from breakfast! Apparently the "snack" is fantastic or so another guest told us. Visit Abbotsbury Swannery for a great day out and also lovely Lyme Regis. Nigel, I'm missing your breakfasts!
