“Wonderful stay. They've thought of everything.”
Reviewed August 17, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We had a wonderful stay at the Bilshay Farmhouse - I would highly recommend it. The owners have thought of everything - the house is very comfortable and well equipped - both the house and garden are child-friendly - the children loved the trampoline and it was wonderful to relax in the hot-tub in the evening sunshine. The garden is really pretty and the house has an amazing view. The house is well located for Bridport and lots of popular Dorset locations, and we enjoyed going for walks/jogs/bike-rides on the Symondsbury Estate, and visiting the local farm shop and cafe. We would certainly stay there again - loved it.

“First class, idillic location for a family get together”
Reviewed July 7, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We stayed at Bilshay Farmhouse for a week with our adult children and their significant others. There were 4 couples in all. The farmhouse was very comfortable for both living space and sleeping accommodation. The kitchen / dining room is well equipped, clean and spacious.
We made full use of the BBQ, outside dining furniture and hot tub as we had wonderful weather.
Bilshay is a great place to relax, unwind and enjoy being together as a family. The views of the Dorset countryside are stunning. There is plenty of opportunity for long (or short) walks. The local amenities (especially food related ones) are all a short car journey away as are any number of beaches along Dorset's Jurassic Coast.
We all loved our stay at Bilshay and would happily recommend it to others (as it was recommended to us). Looking forward to visiting again.

“lovely”
Reviewed February 28, 2015 for a stay in February 2015

just returned from a weeks break. we had a wonderful time. The farmhouse was lovely, well equipped, comfortable, clean, spacious yet cosy.We were provided with a very generous welcome hamper with goods from the local farm shop.
The views were stunning and the walking great. The hot tub was actually hot and well maintained.
This was one of the only rentals that would accept four dogs. It had a brilliant utility are for the very wet hounds to dry of and stretch out .
I would thoroughly recommend this house to anyone who wants to get away from it all for some rest and quite surrounded by beautiful countryside yet only ten minutes drive from the gorgeous beaches and the town of Bridport.

“Fantastic Girly Gettaway”
Reviewed February 10, 2015 for a stay in February 2015

6 friends and I stayed at Bilshay Farmhouse this weekend just gone.
The house is beautiful, so clean and fully equipped.
Beds were clean and comfy, bathrooms lovely, kitchen fully kitted out with great socialising space.
The log fire in the lounge was perfect for us all to sit round with wine, nibbles and dvds!
The hot tub was an added bonus!
The views are also breath-taking.
I have no negative comments to make.
This was my second stay and I would stay again and recommend to anyone wanting a girly get away or a family trip.

“Wonderful Country Escape”
Reviewed January 5, 2015 for a stay in December 2014

We had such a wonderful time at Bilshay - our second year in a row going and it never disappoints.

Stunning setting, very comfortable rooms, great walks from the property with the coast close by and the hot tub was an added luxury. We loved every minute of our stay at Bilshay.

That said, there are a few improvements needed - After some rain, the mud on the road leading to the property was very dangerous, especially with a rear wheel drive car. This was a massive issue - the state of the road was as bad as if it were sheet ice. We would certainly want to know if we came again in autumn or winter that the road was being maintained. It is a shame that the road to such a idyllic farmhouse is so treacherous. Also, one side of the oven does not work which made cooking for 10 people a little tricky and the farmhouse requires a new music/sound system (the iPod dock system was not working).

Thank you very much!

“A brilliant carefree holiday on the Symondsbury Estate”

Our family - 6 adults and 4 children stayed at the Bilshay Farmhouse on the Symondsbury Estate about a mile or so from Bridport, Dorset . The first thing to say is that everyone at Symondsbury was very helpful from the time of booking the holiday through to the day we left for home.

The farmhouse is very comfortable and spacious and the housekeeper had contacted us to ensure the bedrooms were arranged to match our family needs - a small thing but so brilliant. The farmhouse, set in its own grounds, is so peaceful with stunning views of the Dorset countryside. It is also equipped with a gas barbeque, a hot tub and a games room in the stable block. As much as we enjoyed traveling around Dorset everyone was happy to return to Bilshay to enjoy the amenities.

Bridport is a bustling town and well worth visiting for shops, its market and restaurants. The closest resort is West Bay of Broadchurch fame but the whole of the Jurassic Coast is a joy to visit while Weymouth is a must if you have children. Weymouth has an excellent and cheap park and ride system.

It has been some 30 years since we visited Dorset last but this trip was so enjoyable we will be going back. If you want to visit Dorset with friends or family (up to 10/11) I would highly recommend the Bilshay Farmhouse on the Symonndsbury Estate.

It is just wonderful.
