We stopped off her on our way down south and were glad we did. I had the haddock and chips with pea puree. It was fantastic, lovely chunky fish cooked to perfection. My wife had sausages and mash, it too was divine. Not cheap but worth paying for. I believe this had recently be returned and it is a good place for a pint and a meal.

New management/owners and what a difference! Fantastic refurb tastefully done, and the food was superb- I recommend the pork belly, curly kale; potato fondant and cider gravy.my fella had beef and horseradish sausages and mash with onion gravy- he enjoyed his meal also.we will be returning for more when we are back in the area.well done Annette and Julian who were the perfect hosts.

Cold wet November night, we wander into the George and was greeted by a very friendly young lady. We sat and she got our drinks, when we chose from the menu the food did not take long to arrive
The food was well presented and piping hot, the tastes were really great I had the fresh cod with crispy chips and fresh crushed peas with mint.
My fiancé had the fresh mussels which were piled high and nicely presented. A very enjoyable meal with polite friendly staff. And excellent value for money.

Had a lunch here, we had the fish and chips. The fish was not out of the freezer and the chips were fresh cooked. We enjoyed the food and it was of good standard. the trouble with this place it wants a complete refurb to fulfill its full potential. very friendly service and manner from the owner.

We were very disappointed to find that the George has been closed down - only a few days ago. We used to come here for a drink surrounded by the locals. Now no longer a going concern. Another pub bites the dust!
