“A lovely place to stay...”
Reviewed June 16, 2011

Rudge Farm is perfect for all ages. Whether you want to quietly read a book by the lake or play tennis or go on a woodland walk there is something there for everyone! We really enjoyed our stay - the cottages were well equipped and comfortable. The farm had a very friendly relaxed atmosphere and was well maintained. Our children (8 + 4) both loved the tennis court and the rowing boats in fact so much so they didn't want to leave the farm all week! We loved Weymouth Beach and would highly recommend to families. Ludlow Castle is also fab along with Ludlow Cove. Lyme Regis is great and they have crazy golf which we all enjoyed. All in all a lovely place - highly recommend.

Found Rudge Farm through a "Random" internet search, and what a great little gem it is, really hidden away !.,..Service was excellent, Cottage was cosy with a wood burner in the lounge, and it was clean and very well equipped and the location was brilliant for the children who can play table tennis / bowls / table pool in the barn, site also has a tennis court and they went on the small lake on the rowing boat, and it was excellent that bouancy aids are supplied for the rowing boat.
Will definately be recommending to freinds. We will definately be returning to Rudge Farm in future.

Lovely clean cottages with everything that you may need provided including things like washing up liquid which saves having to pack or buy your own. Nice furnishings. Great play equipment for children. The laundry room with detergent provided is also useful. really can't fault this place! Have already recommended to friends and some have booked for a stay this summer. Oh and they provide free postcards of the place - a lovely touch!

We have been to Rudge Farm 6 times. With or without children it has been a fantastic find. Would highly recommend it. We have taken toddlers to teenage children and they ave all loved it. Comfy, homely cottages we will be back again this year without a doubt.

Stayed in the Orchard Cottage 17-19/09/10 with husband and visiting friend from USA. Charming surroundings and very clean & comfortable home-from-home for our few days. Everything you need is provided but there's no intrusion so you can have a totally private & relaxing stay. Highly recommend the fabulous Farm Shop approx.1.5 miles away with high quality local produce. Superb location for walking the beautiful Dorset countryside but you do need a car to get around.

We have recently stayed at Rudge Farm in a cute little cottage called "Milkamaids". The location was amazing, beautiful scenery of the countryside and we were so lucky to have the weather to go with it. The cottage itself was perfect for the two of us and the facilities for kids were great. We had a fabulous four night stay and would highly recommend it to our friends and family. Thank you!!!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Rudge Farm Cottages is peacefully situated on a gentle south-facing slope, overlooking the beautiful Bride Valley and close to Dorset’s World Heritage coastline. The farm is a haven for peace and tranquility within 20 acres of beautiful countryside of mature woodland, meadows and lakes. The old farm buildings have been thoughtfully converted into ten attractive holiday cottages, maintaining many of the original features, ranged around a flower-decked yard and with spectacular views across the Bride Valley towards the Coast. The cottages are all 4 star tourist board rated and are comfortably furnished with a warm and inviting atmosphere providing the perfect place for families or couples. The cottages vary in size from one to three bedrooms with most accommodation on the ground floor. Around the Farm we have plenty of leisure facilities, a picturesque woodland walk and sporting activities, including an all weather tennis court, for the more active. Alternatively you can enjoy relaxing down by the meadows or perhaps take a gentle row around the lake. The games room and games barn provide plenty of indoor activities if the weather is not so good. These include pool, table tennis, skittle alley and table football. The farm is also ideal for younger children with safe play areas including a sandpit, swings and slides, trampoline and activity pirate ship. Close to Rudge Farm there are plenty of fantastic beaches, including Hive Beach which has the highly recommended (by the Sunday Times) Hive Beach Cafe. There are also great beaches a bit further afield at Lyme Regis and Weymouth. The Dorset Coastline is a World Heritage site and provides some of the most dramatic coastline in the UK with Chesil Beach, Durdle Door and Golden Cap. ... more   less
