“Lovely food, atmosphere and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2013

Found this lovely place on a visit to Bridport while on holiday in Weymouth with my husband and six year old son. We nearly ended up in a different place but they were full; I'm so glad we didn't get in there and came here! We were welcomed without a reservation and we could choose if we wanted to sit upstairs or downstairs - we sat downstairs.

Throughout our visit my son was fascinated by the dumb waiter that was bringing the food down and taking the empties back up! Our food came quickly and there was plenty of it.
Really enjoyed our meals in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Lovely service, lovely food - we will definitely be back!

“Romantic and rustic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2013

My husband and I went out for a date night and this did not disappoint. The food was amazing, fresh and delicious. The service and atmosphere professional and polished. Definitely coming back next time we're in the area!

“Exceptional”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2013 via mobile

We called in here for morning coffee & went back for lunch. Can't understand the poor reviews as it was excellent in every way. Good coffee, tasty soup, friendly service, great ambience with interesting choice of background music. Had the feel of a historic pub in a seaport. Brilliant!

“Worst Coffee Ever!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2013

Nipped in for a coffee as I'd bumped into a friend in town...
We ordered two black americano's as they didn't have skimmed milk (for me) or soya milk (for my friend) and asked the bar staff if she'd mind bringing them outside because I'm on crutches... "Yeah, no problem, do you wanna wait for these though?" was the response. Somewhat baffling. Saying "yes" and "no"! Meant the door was a bit of a nightmare seeing as neither of us could open it with ease!
But my goodness, the coffee was awful, bitter, burnt, and worse than some instant coffees. It's really not hard to make a good coffee - with a little training! But judging the rather drab interior, the proprietor can't be bothered with investing money to make it good!
B&B used to be an excellent little place a 5 or so years ago and definitely the place to go. It's now a place to avoid...

I'm sorry that your coffee wasn't up to standard, if any customer is not happy they will have their coffee replaced immediately, so it does lead us to question your real motives. We are constantly being told we serve the best coffee in Bridport and we will regularly sell 150+ on weekdays and over 250 on saturdays.

“Nice table”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2013

Nice wooden table, that is! Upholstery on seating rather sad.
This is the type of place that you order at the bar, and the barmaid taps keys on a machine.
There is a ping (? the microwave) and the food comes down in a lift. There was no sign of a wine list, or of any puddings.
We had Mezza as a starter between us, which was quite nice. The scampi and chips was OK, but the chips were those thin things with nothing in the middle.

I'm glad you enjoyed your Mezze Board and Scampi dishes. The 'ping' that you heard is the dumbwaiter bell on the ground floor not a microwave. the Kitchen is on the 3rd floor and therefore is not audiable and all our food is freshly made on a cooker. Regards
