“Wonderful, cosy cottage near Dorset's stunning coastline”

My partner and I loved our stay at Gullivers' Cottage. It is a cosy place (as a traditional cottage should be) but still feels airy and spacious. The cottage has comfortable, home style furnishings and is very clean. The garden is large and secluded - plus an absolute sun trap!
We liked the location in the peaceful village of Shipton Gorge - a quick zip down to beautiful Burton Bradstock beach in the car or a rewarding coastal walk at your doorstep!
The owners were very helpful in all correspondence and even left an array of helpful guides in a welcome pack at our arrival.
I could not recommend this delightful cottage enough. We hope to return again next year!

“Fantastic cottage in beautiful part of the world!”

I first discovered Gulliver's cottage in 2011 and have been back for a 1 week break more or less every year since... The cottage itself sits nestled on a peaceful lane which runs through the picturesque village of Shipton Gorge. The garden is HUGE and makes for many a fine summer evening sat outside with a glass of wine and some fresh cooked locally caught fish. The interior is very tastefully done - the cottage still has period features like bread ovens in the walls, but the decor is fresh and the appliances are all modern. What's more, the owners are super friendly and have compiled a sort of 'operational guide' to the cottage which makes the stay really easy. The village is quiet but has a nice pub at the top of the hill, from which you can see out over the 'gorge' and out to the sea. It's a beautiful walk to Burton Bradstock and Hive Beach through some lush West Country fields, or it's a 10 minute drive down the lane. Bridport is just down the hill which offers some nice restaurants (check out The Stable just off the High St, the latest outlet of the Bristolian cider/pizza company). The coastal path is in easy reach which offers miles and miles (...and miles) of the kind of walking you just don't get anywhere else in the UK - think golden cliffs and calm blue sea...

I've already booked my trip to Gulliver's this year and I'm already looking forward to that first swim in the sea!
