Description: The Red Barn is a Bar & Restaurant overlooking Woolacombe Beach, with seating indoors and out. We are open all year around and serve home made food all day every day, along with hot drinks, cakes and snacks. The Red Barn is popular with families and surfers, locals and tourists; a recent refurbishment has ensured that the Barn remains the prime destination for food and beer in Woolacombe!

First time in woolacoombe and stayed just across the road for the red barn. There were 6 of us to please and there was something on the menu for everyone from beef stroganoff, fish and chips to lamb steak. Plenty on the plate, a good price and all enjoyed. Pub was quiet as it was Sunday night, but we had a few visits during our stay and always seemed busy, with atmosphere.

Visited first last year on a sunny spring day & the place was packed full of screaming kids. This time was a freezing February day & there were more staff than customers.
The Red Barn is in a prime position in Woolacombe & caters for families & surfers. Plenty of seating & a standard pub menu with specials. I had the all day breakfast & my wife had the turkey korma. Both were very good. The breakfast could have been better if it came with toast or fried bread but it was a good sized portion, the bacon & sausages were good.
Negative points are your condiments come in sachets & the coffee was awful.
If you are staying in woolacombe with your family & don't want to drive anywhere the Red Barn does the job. Personally I would go for the drive & find somewhere better.

We used to go here quite often when we lived in the area about 12 years ago and always loved it for everything-great food and atmosphere... and for the fantastic view towards the beach.
We went there for lunch with our kids at the beginning of February and found the place a bit tired really... The kids' food was pretty average and my soup tasted like something out of a packet mix plus the bread was actually stale. They did change it for me but, all in all, it was quite a disappointing visit.
We may go back to sit outside and have a drink and enjoy the view but don't think we'll be eating there again.

Just like home!
Nothing they do seems wrong. First view, it might seems like a tourist trap but it's not.
You can sit for hours drinking, eating, watching the surf and talking to anyone.
Simply the best. thank you.

We visited The Red Barn several times during our week's stay in Woolacombe, for food and also just for a drink. Food was decent quality pub grub, fairly large portions and very satisfying after a cold day walking on the coast. Pleasant atmosphere in the bar, and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. Visiting in February meant that it was never really very busy; I could imagine it would get extremely crowded in the high season. Would recommend for families where everyone wants to eat something different!
