Description: The Red Barn is a Bar & Restaurant overlooking Woolacombe Beach, with seating indoors and out. We are open all year around and serve home made food all day every day, along with hot drinks, cakes and snacks. The Red Barn is popular with families and surfers, locals and tourists; a recent refurbishment has ensured that the Barn remains the prime destination for food and beer in Woolacombe!

We used to go here quite often when we lived in the area about 12 years ago and always loved it for everything-great food and atmosphere... and for the fantastic view towards the beach.
We went there for lunch with our kids at the beginning of February and found the place a bit tired really... The kids' food was pretty average and my soup tasted like something out of a packet mix plus the bread was actually stale. They did change it for me but, all in all, it was quite a disappointing visit.
We may go back to sit outside and have a drink and enjoy the view but don't think we'll be eating there again.

Just like home!
Nothing they do seems wrong. First view, it might seems like a tourist trap but it's not.
You can sit for hours drinking, eating, watching the surf and talking to anyone.
Simply the best. thank you.

We visited The Red Barn several times during our week's stay in Woolacombe, for food and also just for a drink. Food was decent quality pub grub, fairly large portions and very satisfying after a cold day walking on the coast. Pleasant atmosphere in the bar, and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. Visiting in February meant that it was never really very busy; I could imagine it would get extremely crowded in the high season. Would recommend for families where everyone wants to eat something different!

We are regular visitors to Woolacombe and invariably end up in the Red Barn for post surf beers and drinks. It is relaxing, fun and serves a decent beer. Pool table is a bit wonky though, but you can forgive that after a couple of drinks!
The food isn't what it used to be, we have been a few times over the last few months and decided we won't be eating here again. Generally the basic pub food grub, like burgers and chips are average, but anything more than that (curry, pasta, salads, fish etc) is overpriced, poor quality and in undersized portions. The salads were particularly poor, nearly £10 for a small side salad sized bowl of undressed lettuce, tomato and cucumber with little 'extras' that certainly didn't follow what the menu offered.
The bar and waiting staff are good, efficient and respond well to dealing with problems and the busy periods.
We will keep on returning, but will be eating elsewhere from now on!
