This is a fun, family-friendly, beautiful sandy beach at the heart of a traditional Devon village. Even in mid October our two young children (aged 5 and 3) spent hours here just being entertained by the beach. Climbing rocks and exploring rock pools. Building sand castles to throwing on a wet suit and having a go on their body-board in the sea. They were able to do it all.
There is plenty of parking available but it will soon fill up, especially in the summer months. In the autumn and winter months, the majority of the parking is free where in the summer it can be up to around £14s a day. There are also free public toilets near by and plenty of places to grab something to eat.
The beach is very popular with the local and surfing community and during our visit; we thought the beach was clean and tidy. It is however only as clean and tidy as the people who visit choose to leave it so please take your rubbish away with you! There are plenty of bins around the bay.
