We had a family gathering in Mortehoe, and had agreed on Fortescue Arms for a lunch afterwards. We were a party of eight, with two of us vegetarians. We were delighted at the spread before us and the vegetarians were very satisfied with the meal for them. The food was good quality and so much that we didn't all find room for desserts. Thank you for rounding off a great weekend perfectly.

This is situated at the top of the hill above Woolacombe and it does B&B.....very good. The food in the restaurant is excellent and they do a very good carvery with lots of vegetables at a very good price.

We often holiday in Woolacombe Bay and always go to the Fortescue for one or two evening meals. It is a family run business and the owners son is the chef. There is always a nice menu of homemade traditional rustic English food like Sausage & Mash, Liver & Bacon etc. etc., which is enhanced by international dishes, I always have the Pate Maison as a starter as it is one of the best I have ever had. Food is always freshly prepared, nicely cooked and hot when it gets to the table, it is also good VFM

Well we popped into the Fortescue Arms for a Carvery while staying at the Golden Coast resort just across the road and we are really pleased we did. The staff were very friendly and chatty the decor inside is very clean and spacious a most welcoming. Well what can you say about the Carvery seeing as most carvers are very much the same however this one tasted really good with a choice of three meats and a vegetarian and beautiful Crispy potatoes. We are not ones for starters or sweets but I am sure if we did they would have been just as good. There is also a very good selection on the main menus. I was also impressed with the free wifi which is charged for at the golden coast resort. Finally we don't have a dog but a customer asked if they could bring their dog in to which the reply was yes then when they ordered their drinks they were asked if they would like a bowl of water for the dog which was given in a stainless steel bowl. The Fortescue Arms has got it right .Welcoming, friendly, and accommodating with good food to boot. Well done to the owners and staff.
