Warm welcome from Phil the current owner, his co owner the elusive Gill, we never met. Easy enough set of rules allowing entry to property as long as you see the name easily from the road which we didn't, maybe a larger sign may help. First impressions a pleasant, light, airy, clean environment. IKEA furniture dominated, nothing wrong with that, cheap and cheerful .The bungalow has quite a large lounge, bedroom and bathroom with a shower over the bath, and a perfectly functional kitchen (no dishwasher) but hey, there were only 2 of us.Lots of space for 2 people in a wonderful location. Great for fabulous walks, beautiful beaches and the Red Barn which appears to be the only cafe/bar open this time of year in Woolacombe (it was Dec/Jan) Croyde, next door was far livelier and more atmospheric but still love Woolacombe beaches the most.We had a very pleasant stay. Just a couple of things, the settee was bumpy and lumpy, but a new one was waiting in the garage to be installed and if it had been such a big deal we would have asked Phil to change it, he was most approachable, the heating is managed by Phil and Gill (who live next door in an attached dormer bungalow) this is fine most of the time but at one point we overheated, (we were able to turn individual radiators down) but another time we were a little chilled, no supporting heat appliances so if heating is off, it is off. Phil did tell us they are in the process of improving things. In actual fact not a lot needs improving, we had a very nice stay.We would certainly recommend it to friends and family.

Liked best: Location
Liked least: The property was a little overpriced we couldn't gain access until 4pm, to leave by 10am so you lose acouple of days which is fine in summer months and to be expected but not for shorter breaks but we chose to pay the price.

“Fabulous location and views”

Basic, clean and comfortable accommodation in stunning location with fantastic, panoramic view of hills sweeping down to the bay from the south facing living room bay window. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need and things like washing up liquid and handwash thoughtfully provided. Also lots of books and games plus maps and information about the area.

There are two drawbacks: the heating and electricity are controlled from the main house (Little Quest is an annexe to the main house with its own entrance). The radiators never reached more than luke warm (despite being only 3 - 5 degrees outside) but there are plug in radiators in the bedroom, living room and kitchen which warm the place up quickly. The bathroom was freezing as a very big room with only a small towel rail to heat it. We solved this problem by switching on the heater in the bedroom and keeping the bathroom door open! Unfortunately the lights are prone to go out as the fuse box keeps tripping - a known problem as plenty of torches provided and instructions on what to do - which involved knocking at the main house and disturbing the holiday guests there! We had to do this on two evenings in our week's stay, including at 10:45 on the first night!

We were a little disappointed to find that the private rear garden was not attached to the annexe. It is accessed round the back of the annexe and up some steps to the gate. Meant we couldn't just let the dog out for a wee late at night, but had to put on boots and a coat to take him up to the garden.

The best part is the location - access to NT land is immediately next to the property and the beach is only 10 minutes walk away with footpaths leading in all directions from the property so the route can be varied.

Everything you need in the town - the Londis store has a fabulous in store bakery as well as a good range of groceries etc.
