Nice pleasant surprise. The hotel was in a very peaceful location with lovely views. We decided to have dinner in Exeter which was a short drive away. Breakfast was lovely and the staff couldn't do enough to accommodate us.
Unfortunately we didnt get time to visit the spa, but we wish we had.
Will definitely visit again.

We're staying in one of the spacious self-catering lodges at Woodbury Park for a short family break.
The accommodation is perfectly situation with views of the course and 1 minute walk the spa and restaurant/bar.
There are 4 ground floor bedrooms (2 doubles & 2 twins) with 2 bathrooms, a spacious living/dining area and well equiped kitchen. Everything is well maintained and spotless.
All the staff have beeen very friendly and exceptionally helpful.
The pro-shop is well stocked but only sells top-end items - so a little bit pricey. The team in the shop were very welcoming and full of food advice. We played the 9 hole Acorn course and it was perfect for us high handicappers - a fair challenge and excellent condition. The green fees online were very reasonable (£40 for a fourball and £15 for a buggy hire).

We booked for 2 nights in a twin room. Dining experience is very polarised in the Golfy Club building at the lower end of the car-park, pub-grub complete with a sticky menu and a range of condiments to lick off your fingers before actually ordering or the A la Carte menu, enough said.

Whilst eating my burger, slaw and fries on Wednesday evening, £16, off a piece of old pallet masquerading as a plate I happened upon the chance to listen to lots of lovely middle-aged golfers chatting tenaciously and at full volume about handicaps and swings!

Ask for an upstairs room if you can otherwise you'll be subjected to, as I was, what sounded like a door slamming competition and all night drunken tap dancing trials!

Room tip: Choose a room a few miles away

Looking for a stay over whilst travelling found this place on Booking.Com. Wife & I checked in around 1500hrs to a warm welcome.

Features a Chanpionship Golf Course and Spa with Restaurant in Club House.

Room was amazing featurng an enormous King Size bed plus usual facilities.

Enjoyed a drink overlooking the18th hole before eating in the restaurant. We made our choices from the Bistro Style Menu and were not disappointed.

Enjoyed a good nights sleep before a good breakfast and resumed our journey.

Staff, helpful and courteous and service was good.

Thoroughly recommended,

What an amazing location. Had opportunity of a recent tour around the Woodbury Park Hotel and Golf Club. Recently taken over by the club group, the gym recently refurbished with technogym equipment and looked clean and tidy. Pool and sauna facilities excellent. Agree with other reviewers that the carpets and windows need a refresh. Fantastic location- quiet and what a view!
