We booked this through ebay- very well priced, and for what we paid we were happy with what we got. Golland farm is well off the beaten track, although satnav got us there no problems. The cottages are placed within the farm complex, although this wasnt an issue. The cottage was well appointed, could probably due with a update on the decor, but did what it said on the tin.
There are chickens, sheep, a friendly bull and a pig to meet, although I suspect that after a couple of days kids might become bored by the isolation. The nearest village is about a 5 minute drive away, but it has a small supermarket, butchers, etc etc. (top tip- the Indian restaurant is poor-dont bother)
There is a fishing lake about a 5 minute walk away down the hill- fish in the one on the left of the two, sweetcorn works well, and expect plenty of small carp.
All in all, for a budget break, we felt it worth it, we had a pleasant few days.More
