Arrived at this cafe/restaurant in the middle of lunch service without a reservation on route to the horse drawn barge on the Tiverton Canal, (rather expensive for a family outing at £11:95 for an adult and £9:45 for children). Despite not having a reservation and a full restaurant the owner Lisa Thompson gave us a table on the understanding that we had vacated it before the pre booked party arrived.Thank goodness she did as we had a most enjoyable snack lunch, although in the circumstances rather hurried. Strongly recommend advance booking for this Devon Delight to avoid being disappointed. The trip advisor reports drew us to this establishment and we were certainly not disappointed that we went, we had the platter of meat and cheese for two (cost £16:95) and our guest had the cheese platter for one at a cost of £8:95 both represent good value, coffee selection was good and most enjoyable. I look forward to returning and having a more leisurely lunch sampling the some of the dishes on the menue in the process. The Yearlstone Vineyard post code EX16 8RL can be found off the A396 between Tiverton and Bickleigh, signposted from the A396, the final leg might be regarded by some as a challenge but the pot of gold at the destination makes it worth while. Recommended with total confidence that provided you have booked you will not be disappointed, living on Dartmoor it is an establishmen I will take my own visitors to this Devon Delight.
