Very friendly staff who were cheerful and helpful. Children ( 3 and 13) loved the play park and assault course respectively and both loved the pool. Showers and toilets were very clean. The views are probably amongst the best on the Devon coast and it is a gentle stroll to the beech where you can hop on the ferry across the bay. All in all a very good holiday.

We visited Coastview in July with our tourer and had excellent weather. All pitches were set into the hillside and had a seaview. The staff were friendly and helpful. The nearby villages of Shaldon and Maidencombe were lovely. Plenty to see and do with our young family.

Just returned from staying in a static caravan on Coastview w/c 14 July 2012. The caravan was located behind the clubhouse which we were jubious off due to noise of the entertainment, however this was nothing to be concerned about as the site was quite quiet due to the english schools still being on and a lot of young families holidaying. The caravan was clean, tidy and modern with bed sheets placed in sealed bags in the bedrooms. The site itself is steep, with no carparking beside your static caravan, but this is only a 2min walk away. We had a verandah outside which was safe for the kids to access the caravan and play outside on. As we were only looking for a small family run caravan site to use as a base, this site was perfect as we were within 10mins from main roads. Overall the staff were friendly, the site was very clean and the grass was well maintained. Would recommend Crealy adventure Park to families with children off all ages and the play park at Teignmouth Promenade.

Just spent the weekend camping at Coast View. Amazing views from most locations on park, great facilities on site and the entertainment was pretty good too.

The only downside about this park is that it's built into a steep hillside with steep slopes (but this is what gives the wonderful views).

Also at £3.90 for a pint of cider is rather expensive in the on site bar.

I would highly recommend staying at this park.

We decided to go back to Coast View this year as had heard that new people now owned it and hoped things had been made better. We love Shaldon and the views from the site are the best. The site definitely looks like it has had money spent on it. The old clubhouse is now a family bar and much better, less entertainment which we like and the food was much better. Chalets are still a bit old but were clean. However, we also looked at the chalets being refurbished and they look really smart. The swimming pool is clean and Tom the lifeguard was lovely. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and we'll definitely be back next year.

We booked the Starfish luxury chalet for 7th july 2012 for 1 week. We do not know what was luxurious about it, the damp smell hit us as soon as we walked in. The sofa collapsed when you sat on it, the beds were old and lumpy, the pillows and duvets were dirty. the bath had black mould in the corners and the water pressure in the shower attachment was non existent. The Microwave did not work (this was replaced as soon as it was reported), the plates and glasses were dirty, the frying pan was disgusting and the dishwasher stank. After we had cleaned the chalet we decided to go the clubhouse for a drink and food, we could not believe our eyes when we walked in. it looked like a school dining room, with plastic coloured chairs and had no atmosphere what so ever. We had our dinner which was ok but then decided to go and visit relatives who were staying in Torquay. We arrived back around 10pm and decided to go back to the club house to look at the "family entertainment" - there were about 6 people watching a live singer, how embarrassing to have an audience so small, so we went back to the Chalet. We looked into the club every night but it was so bad we drove out to Torquay to enjoy the entertainment on another Park. Such a lovely location for a holiday park but that is where it ends. I think that the chalets all need updating and the clubhouse definately needs another refurb. I would definatly not recommend this park.

On arrival at Coastview, I was initially excited about the location with a refurbished reception area and on site shop, and a good sized indoor swimming pool. We checked in and the receptionist was friendly and polite. We had booked a 2 bedroom chalet and informed we could only stay in the "dory" accommodation as we had 2 dogs with us. We pulled up to our allocated accommodation to find there was no available parking near the chalet. On opening the door we were hit by the smell of damp and a tiny space for a living area with outdated furniture. The mattress in the bedroom was shocking and lighting was terrible. The bathroom appeared unclean and the smell in the kitchen area and bathroom were overwhelming. The final straw was the sweeping brush that had been provided in the accommodation was taped together (and not even straight!) As I am also 8 months pregnant, I am sure it would have been hazardous to my health to stay in this property. We decided to complain to reception that the accommodation was not as we were expecting and for £368 for a week in early July was poor value for money. The receptionist was very understanding and offered us alternative options of accommodation. We decided to upgrade to a "Pearl" which we did have to pay an additional £75 for (however although not perfect was worth every bit of the additional payment). Again the furniture wasn't the best and it was poorly equipped for cleaning equipment (especially as we had the 2 dogs). The property was in desperate need of a good clean and a complete renovation, however we did manage and I was glad we did not stay in the "dory" as I would have been depressed by the end of the week! We were part of a larger family group who all stayed at Coastview and my Sister-in-law also upgraded her accommodation to a similar property to ours, and they were offered the same discount. We had 2 additional family members who stayed in their touring caravans, initially a good site in the "triangle" however we had a lot of rain over the week and their pitches were both completely waterlogged, there is no drainage, making packing away an awfully muddy experience!

Good points;
* Friendly receptionist
* Good swimming pool (however do not expect to do anything other than swim, as there are a lot of rules!)
* Good soft play area
* Excellent views of the coast

Bad points;
* Poorly maintained accommodation
* Overwhelming smell of damp
* Felt misguided by attractive brochure and not a true reflection of property on offer.
* Poor value for money (We could have easily booked a cottage in the area for a similar price, and this is what we will do in future).
* Would definitely not recommend to others or stay here again unless accommodation is completely overhauled.

Room Tip: Do not even consider the basic accommodation!
