Description: The Clifford Arms is owned by Dominic and Clare de Suys. It is a combination of the former and much loved Coffee Rush and the traditional approach of the Clifford Arms. Now operating as a continental style café bar serving from 9 am to 11 pm daily with a short closure between 4 and 5 pm to allow us to prepare for the evening. We serve breakfast and light lunches daily and dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings. Sunday lunch is also served and it is particularly popular when we host a jazz group. Monday nights are reserved for jazz (please see list or ring for dates and names of artistes)

Atmosphere excellent as was service - as always. Victoria's band certainly enlivened the celebratory feeling and it was nice to be amongst friends.

The atmosphere is pleasant. The food is only acceptable. We had supposedly large goblet of ice cream to share as a sweet consisting of 4 scoops @£5.50. We were told could only choose 2 different flavours ? Not wishing to be difficult, just confused, as if you had small goblet of 2 scoops for £2.80 you could have 2 different flavours! Queried the reason for this rule, and the waitress couldn't explain . She said she would ask the management who did us a big favor and said we could have a choice of 3.
When the goblet came , could not find 4 scoops. More like 4 spoonfulls.
When asked waitress if she thought the the spoonfuls looked like scoops she said "I asume so" and walked away.
Like to feel as though your custom is appreciated.
Not here ....won't go back.

Enjoyed a 3 course meal on the first evening for our anniversary celebration. The owners and staff all very pleasant Liked it so much we decided to go back on the 2nd evening to enjoy a weekly Monday Jazz evening and chose our meal from a special set menu for these nights which was equally enjoyable and good value for a 2 or 3 course meal.and a glass of wine

Had dinner with sister and our husbands, friendly welcoming atmosphere yet quite refined as no children. Menu full of homely favourites and a few interesting, delicious dishes (scallops with prawns in a cream and Pernod sauce was amazing). We had a bottle of the white English wine which was great, very drinkable! Enjoyable all round.
