“Fabulous house and village”
Reviewed June 6, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Mortehoe is a small picturesque village with fabulous walks to Ilfracome (approx 6 miles) and Woolacombe. We had a lovely lunch at the Chichester Arms - opposite the house and a fab Thai fish curry from Rockleigh takeaway.

The Buttery was great for a party of friends, a large lounge and very well equipped kitchen (we didn't do much cooking though!!), 5 great bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The terrace was a sun trap and when the sun disappeared at the back of the house the balcony at the front was equally great.

We'd love to visit again :)

“Really lovely stay”
Reviewed April 21, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

A group of friends and I booked the Buttery for Easter weekend. Dominic was incredibly helpful with all of my queries with my booking from the start, with quick replies to my (many!) emails!
Mortehoe is a lovely untouched Devon village just on the outside of Woolacombe with 2 pubs, a village shop, a fish and chip shop and several places to get afternoon tea. Although the house isn't right on the beach the area has countless coastal walks and many amazing beaches within close distance.
The house was well equipped, clean and well decorated. Right in center of the village and within walking distance to all amenities.
Highly recommended!

Good property. Great walks onto the Moors and down to Woolacombe beach. The only downside was the unexpected building work in the adjacent property.

Really sorry to hear that there were building works going on. Was that to the left or to the right? Dom

“Great House, Perfect Position”
Reviewed September 15, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Had a long weekend at The Buttery with a group of girlfriends. Dominic couldn't have been more helpful when booking and provided lots of useful information for us about the area. The house is great - perfect position for us to walk down to the beach, within easy reach of pubs and very comfortable and well equipped. Already booked to go again next summer!

The Buttery is a lovely, large house perfect for a large party. The rooms are big, light and airy some of them have stunning views. It is perfectly situated in mortehoe with the local pub just across the road and the beautiful Grunta Beach about a 15 minute walk away. The large kitchen is lovely for a family gathering and well equipped. There is a lovely balcony on the second floor with lovely views. Mortehoe is a very pretty village and this property is perfect for walking to the two pubs, various eating places and a small local, friendly shop which sells delicious ice cream and local pasties. If you are looking to visit mortehoe with a few friends or family I would certainly reccomend The Buttery.

“Brilliant break away!”
Reviewed May 26, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

I would without doubt highly recommend staying at the Buttery, this was the second time we stayed there! The buttery is brilliantly equipped and has everything you need in terms of cooking/catering for a large group. All the rooms are very tidy, great showers and even supply towels ect.

The reason the Buttery stands out from the rest is because of its ideal location, just a 2minute walk from the village but also close enough to walk to the sea (the views are amazing). And if you fancy staying in they have a fantastic balcony on the first floor which faces south and over looks the sea/fields.

You will not be disappointed if you book that's for sure!

“Fantastic stay”
Reviewed September 7, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

A very enjoyable stay. Beds are very comfortable, house is very clean and inviting, and all rooms have a welcoming feel. The balcony is perfect for a morning breakfast, and I loved having the piano in the front room to play on. Will be back for more!
