My family have been here 3 or 4 times and it is always a highlight of a trip to the South West. It is completely unique as an attraction and although you do have to pay for rides it is only a pound a go, I think that's a fair price. Big bonus is its all undercover so a perfect rainy day out. Penny games didn't seem to be working so well this time, usually a pound goes along way on this section! Friendly staff, interesting displays all about old fairground life, old caravans to look in. Thoroughly recommended.

We took our three kids to this museum. £25 bought us a family ticket (2 adults, up to 4 kids). I was a little shocked when then asked if we'd like to buy tokens. Yes you have to buy tokens for the rides on top on the entrance fee. £10 bought 20 tokens and rides cost between 2 and 3 tokens each.

They only had 4 rides that were suitable for adults, 2 of which were not working/ operational. This was very disappointing, given there was no discount.

The kids had a good time playing one arm bandits which took 2p a time, loved the dodgems, which they insist "are bumper cars".

We arrived at about 11am, left about 2pm. We ate there, which was average at best. My son got a burger with a wet bun.

Total expense was about £65-75.

My feedback, worth a look if your local to it. Don't eat there. Phone ahead and check all rides are working. It is a low rent museum and a low rent attraction.

Personally I can think of loads more things to do with the family for £70 that would be more fun and better value.

Thanks everyone. Having visited in December we returned with a party of 20+ for our silver wedding anniversary, ages ranging from 6 to 91!!! Everyone had a great time. Maybe as the last reviewer said the entrance fee may seem a little high, we booked on line and got a good discount 20%. Also there is plenty to see in the museum/display section. The rides are good, the staff are friendly and helpful and lastly they are doing a great job preserving our fairground heritage which must be horrendously costly and is surely worth saving. So a big thank you for a truly memorable afternoon.

My wife and I spent just over an hour here, 8 pounds per person entry fee seems a bit high to us especially as you have to pay at least a pound per ride on top, perhaps couple of free rides inclusive in the entry fee might make it a little more agreeable. Good to see some of the older rides and blasts from the past though.
On the plus side you do get free entry for 12 months which is great if you live nearby and have a hour to spare.

Had a great day out, even my mum who is 80 enjoyed it. All the fun of the fair. Hold on to your hats!!!! (Will be returning in 2013 for a 25th Wedding Anniversary celebration. There is something for everyone. Dodgems, Gyrator/switchback, Ghost Train, sideshows (hook the duck, coconut shy, shooting gallery, darts, penny arcade etc etc. The staff/volunteers are fantastic, couldn't be more helpful, informative and friendly. Roll on March. All it needed was a hot dog and candy floss. This was a charity fund raising day. Hope they did well they deserve to. Wherever you looked everyone, young and old was smiling. What more could you want?!!!!
