We stayed at the Bluebell cottage from Boxing Day over the new year until the 2nd of January. It was a truly magical place to stay! The facilities were outstanding, indoor heated pool, sauna (small charge £1 for 25 mins), full sized snooker table, fully equipped games room, outside swings and trim trail and slide, tennis courts and beautiful surroundings!
The cottage itself is part of other apartments (part of stancombe Mannor) but you do not feel intruded upon at any time and actually the feeling of privacy can be achieved easily as everyone respects that all want to use the facilities! The cottage had all the mod cons excellent wifi, Tv/DVD, hair dryer, washer dryer, dishwasher and all the solutions required for use too! Even small amounts of provisions such as pasta, tea coffee, hot chocolate, salt pepper etc! All cleaning equipment hand wash, washing up liquid etc! I honestly packed expecting an empty cottage and yet half the stuff I brought I didn't need!
The roads are ruthless mind, one track mostly so expect to extend your travel time due to that! But once used to it it's a perfect gem to spend time here! Surrounding areas are gorgeous and we highly recommend the steam train from Dartmouth it's very romantic and the kids loved the experience too!
We also loved waking to the the start point lighthouse very beautiful walk!
There really is lots to see if you can drag yourself away from the peaceful setting of Stancombe manor!
Don't hesitate to book here you will not be disappointed and probably return!! Enjoy!!

1 review We had a really lovely, very peaceful 4 day break in the ground floor Bluebell.1 bedroom apartment which really was immaculate. Furnished very nicely with everything you would need, even including basic cooking essentials like cooking oil, salt, pepper and tea. The indoor pool and sauna are really nice. and it being off peak time most days we had both to ourselves so were able to use the sauna as the Finns would and cool off in the pool the same way. The locality is beautiful in May, with tree blossom, Bluebells and lots of other wild flowers everywhere you look. We heard owls hooting at night, had a close encounter with a Fox Cub, New Lambs, and a Cormorant. I'm a keen cyclist which is a great way to explore the many small lanes, and villages, but you will find the roads both challenging and exhilarating - not for the faint-hearted. Naturist bathing can be enjoyed at the nearby Slapton Sands where you can also get a very good cup of fresh ground coffee and a home made cake, which is unusual on any beach let alone a Nudist one.

I can't recommend the Bluebell Aprtment at Stancombe manor enough. Set amongst beautiful grounds, there is plenty to do for all the family here. We had our two year old with us and he loved running around on the well kept grass and playing in the wonderful toy room. The apartment itself had everything in it that you would want on a holiday - and a washing machine to avoid taking masses of dirty clothes back home!
All in all, really nice, comfy bed, very quiet. Excellent.
