“Fantastic cottage”
Reviewed October 2, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

We stayed for four nights in Rose Cottage at Cotmore Farm, and it was one of the most relaxing breaks we have had. The cottage itself is fully kitted out and was a pleasure to stay in. Situated in a peaceful, tranquil location, and only five minutes away from beesands beach in the car, ideal location for a morning stroll with the dogs. Plenty of coastal walks with good pubs on route for lunch. A fantastic welcoming basket of treats that went down well over the 4 days, this place is a must if you are looking for a relaxing break. We will certainly be back in 2017, thank you.

“Comfortable cottage in peaceful location, perfect for two”
Reviewed September 28, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Well equipped and comfortable cottage. Good location for walking the stunning SW coastal path and swimming from numerous beaches. Plenty to see and do in the area. Lots of eating out opportunities if that's your thing. Quiet and peaceful. Great view of the night sky only interrupted by the flash from the Start Point Lighthouse. Sue and Piers friendly hosts and always available to give helpful advice when needed. Delicious welcome pack on arrival many thanks.

“Rose Cottage is in an idyllic situation”
Reviewed September 19, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Ideal position for touring this part of the country. it is not far off the beaten track but very tranquil. Lovely secluded garden with many visiting birds which are fascinating to watch.
There was a fantastic welcome pack for us which was very much appreciated. Sue and Piers, the owners are very friendly and helpful. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a very comfortable bed with lovely linen. The whole cottage is very clean.

“Lovely tranquil setting!”

My husband, myself and our Maltese dog Pixie found Rose cottage to be the perfect place to explore the surrounding area. Upon arriving, Piers was there to warmly greet us. Beautiful welcome basket was very well presented and included fresh eggs from the farm. A very well equipped kitchen. Big shower. Big bed with Egyptian cotton sheets and a very comfy mattress! Tiled throughout with underfloor heating. We found it to be a very peaceful setting. Lovely enclosed patio garden, with a small grassed area with a gate that leads to a small field. A bird feeder hangs up next to the living room window, and we had lots of small birds on it all week. Nice to see them up so close. Piers recommended the Tradesman's arms in Stokenham which is dog friendly. We had a fabulous meal in a lovely atmosphere. the landlord is very welcoming. If you want superb fish and chips then head to Radius7 at Stoke Fleming about 15 minute drive up through Torcross and Strete. Catch of the day is available, we enjoyed Dab and chips the best. We loved the dog friendly beaches, Totnes, Dartmouth and the south west coast path with beautiful scenery. We love south hams!!

“Perfect Peace & Relaxation”

It has all been said before in these reviews but so many people cannot be wrong and the praise given is quite justified. Rose Cottage provides everything you could possibly want for a very relaxing and peaceful retreat from the real world to unwind and enjoy the quiet and the exceptionally beautiful Devon countryside.

The cottage is private with it's own patio but also very much part of the small complex which is made up of the farmhouse and two other lets. The accommodation is very clean and exceptionally well equipped and the bedding is fresh and the mattress comfortable. The welcome hamper is exceptional and was very much appreciated. The bathroom is modern and although the shower is not the most powerful in the world the water was hot and plentiful. Piers, the owner, and Sue his wife were away when we arrived but everything was ready for us and his instructions on driving to the cottage were spot on. I would very strongly advise that you follow Pier's directions to the letter if visiting Cotmore Farm, deviate from his route and you will find yourself in roads barely wide enough for a bicycle let alone a car!

We spent a lot of time walking in the area and very much enjoyed the half hour wander, along narrow lanes, from the cottage into Beesands where we enjoyed a much needed pint at "The Cricket" a fabulous fish and chip supper at "The Brittania" where you can have a sit down meal or a take away, seriously excellent food and lovely friendly staff. If you are feeling energetic turn off the road at Beeson and follow the marked footpath to Torcross and then follow the sea path back into Beesands. The footpath from Beesands out to the lighthouse at Start Point is also not to be missed and not nearly as tough as you might think.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rose Cottage and congratulate Piers and Sue who provide a lovely holiday opportunity and who have developed the happy knack of always being available when you want them but never there when you are enjoying the peace and quiet. Animal lovers especially will have a great time with so many different varieties of birds around, I had never seen a Stonechat before, farm animals of all sorts and we saw seals and dolphins from the beach and of course the adorable Jack, we really miss him!

“Rose Cottage a must when visiting South Devon”
Reviewed June 13, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We received a very warm welcome after a very wet drive. Rose Cottage has been beautifully renovated and offers every amenity required, including a log burner for chilly evenings. The courtyard garden is relaxing to have meals or just enjoy the scenery. Cotmore Farm is a lovely environment to stay with a variety of very content farm animals. The owners, Sue and Piers, couldn't be more welcoming and helpful, and indeed we found the whole community incrsedibly friendly. There is a lot to do in the area with easy access to coastal walks and loads of beaches, Dartmoor and Kingsbridge Estuary.
